A collection of extremely elegant and satisfying puzzles. I would highly recommend this game to people who like challenges.
Easily the best puzzle game I have ever played. Each stage is perfectly thought out, and the difficulty ramps nicely. Concepts are loosely discovered through trial and error, so there isn't much hand-holding here. There's a little story to go along with it and the aesthetic is cute. The 5 bean puzzles are nightmarish but you don't need to finish them all to advance. If I finish more than 2 or 3 levels in an evening I am happy, and when you finally solve a problem that's been bugging you for days/weeks it is incredibly satisfying. If you like problem solving and puzzles then this is an absolute must purchase for your library.

i got so many hours out of this!! completed it almost 10 months ago as of writing, and i gotta give it a review. one of my favourite games for sure, i can't believe how good the puzzles are. this is unique. i just remember every day until completion being excited to turn on the game and continue, and writing down my experiences with a lot of the puzzles. some blew me away! it's something i wish i could re-experience again for the first time. maybe you should experience it for yourself :)
Almost all of my time thinking through the puzzles was spent thinking through the broad, conceptual ideas. Much more "how can this even be possible?" and much less "what if I move this thing one square to the left?" Even when puzzles took me 30+ minutes to solve, I felt like I was making progress the whole time, as I performed little experiments to test interactions between creatures, slowly building up my knowledge base until the solution glided into view. The nakedly autobiographical story about a trapped group of academics suggests the devs created this kind of experience with full intention, so I sincerely hope they continue their careers as designers.
do not sleep on this. easily a contender for puzzle goat
The best puzzle game I've ever played. Buy it now.
My favorite thinky puzzle game, fun and incredibly challenging! In each level, the objective is to reach a goal tile, with help from creatures that act in a deterministic way. There's a great deal of emergent complexity in how the creatures interact, and the levels are built to take full advantage of it. The game's story, following a team of researchers investigating the beans, describes the joys and challenges of academic research; and just as I would with an interesting math problem, I found myself thinking about the puzzles, coming up with an idea while on a walk and rushing home to see if it would work. I love the creatures, they are friendly and help you solve the puzzles :)
Bean and Nothingness is an indie puzzle game gem. While the difficulty is a bit high to be accessible to everyone, those with experience in the genre will definitely have treat with this one.
