"Hey, guys! Very excited about today's video. A huge thanks to Lenovo for giving their amazing. brand new phone, the Phab 2 Pro: the world's first phone with Tango - which kind of feels like a piece from the future just dropped right here in the present and that's exactly why I decided to make a very special time travel episode of JackAsk. Question 1: "Do you believe in the possibility of time travel?". I literally just said that. This is the time travel episode of JackAsk; please try to keep up Question 2: "If you could go back in time, what's one thing you'd change about your childhood?". Well, I would probably confront my middle school bully and tell him I grew up to be a big YouTube star. Of course, then he'd be all like, "What's a YouTube?". You know what? That question sucks! Next question. Question 3: "Would you travel to the past or the future?". Listen up, HOOLiGanLLAMA, I'm about to blow your mind! Mmm, that's good meat! So I'm taking my Phab 2 Pro with me to travel through space and time in my own personalised, homebuilt time machine. Purple, red, oh, OK, oh, yeah, green one, that's good; I think that's good. Let's measure it with my phone real quick. (OK, measuring the dimensions with Tango's AR measurement tools to make sure everything lines up.) Looks good. Open! Let's go! [Sigh of relief.] Just so you know, time travel is not instant, so while we're waiting, how 'bout I just answer some of your questions? "How do I tell my parents that I'm goth?". What you can do is travel to the future, where, uh, you outgrow your goth phase. Boom, problem solved! "How many stars are in our galaxy?". Good question. To find out, we're gonna go all the way back to 1590, to ask the man himself, Galileo! [Screams in a panicky manner.] If only we could see the heavens, instead of relying on our mind's eye Whoa-whoa-whoa-whoa, shut up for a sec. I think I can help you guys out. ¡El diablo! No, it's actually called 'augmented reality. It lets me see a fully-scaled model of the Solar System; the Sun; the Big Dipper; the Little Skipper; uh, Unicom; Unicran; some other ones-oh, real quick, do you guys know how many stars are in our galaxy? You know what? I'll just look it up. Thanks anyway. Bye! He's a bit of a jerk, wasn't he? "What is your favourite video game?". I'm not really a fan of the new ones - I don't really have the fingers for 'em - so let's go all the way back to 1972, to play the first video game. Hey, guys! What are we working on? Well, I don't mean to brag, but we've created something revolutionary. You see, this rectangular... paddle hits this round circular... ball, and then that... ball travels across this empty black space, where it meets up with another paddle! [Laughter.] Huh? That's... really tight, guys, uh, and you'll be happy to hear that you helped pave the way for AR games. Check this out! What is it? It's the future, so you're trying to hit this target. Where're the cords? No cords. Here, look Honey, we should get one of these! "What do you think it will be like in the year 2150?". Oh, finally, a good question! Let's go to the future, where people can finally wrap their minds around this crazy technology! It's time to go Jack to the Futurel Get it? Uh, Jack to the Future, uh, it's-it's, like, it's a pun on, uh, a famous movie, uh, where Simba loses his dad, uhm-wait-yeah, that's right, yeah. Oh my Gosh! You-you must be my great-great-grandson! Get out of my home. Let's grab a picture of the handsome boy, huh? No. (Just gotta add a dragon, then boom!) That's pretty cool, right? A little dragon popping up and everything. Your body language says yes No. Not a little? Nuh-uh. Not even a little? No. Yeah, y-no, I-I'm busy too; I gotta get back to my... time machine. It was really cool catching up! [Chuckles.] Call me, or you kn-ch, it doesn't work like that. Uh, call me anyway, yeah? All in all, that was a pretty good trip! Oh, and Lenovo, thanks for the free phone - not giving it back! [Chuckles.] Not paying for that! Not paying for that! Not my problem!"
My review is only positive by the fact I love Jacksfilms. He tried so hard to personally make a game and make you feel apart of a greater community if you never got picked or kept up with videos. The greater community is at fault, trolls trying to boost their own rank, painfully unfunny currency grinders for a comedy game. To you, I say get bent, you ruined the game and killed it. It was our own community, it was our fault. I am sorry Jack. The game is offline, don't download or play.
This is an excellent example of trying to break into the gaming industry without fleshing out the idea in the long term. A strong reminder of the cutthroat nature of the gaming industry, player base, and the entertainment industry as a whole. Be Funny Now was a game funded and published by YouTuber Jack Douglass (known online as jacksfilms) who attempted to take his YouTube show design of YIAY, and convert it into a playable version on Steam and mobile. Very close to other games like Pictionary or the Jackbox collections, it quickly garnered an opinion that it was not as fleshed out as those titles and reeks of the freemium method it attempted to profit with. The root question/prompt list was limited. The cosmetics you could buy were limited. The price of in-game purchases was high. Sessions became repetitive. Players would leave mid-session if they realized they were going to not win the session. Towards the end of the game's life, people would just beg for votes in the voting rounds so they could maximize their profile stats. Because most players were fans of jacksfilms, all the jokes that players would vote against were inside jokes, driving generic players away due to not understanding what was being said. The push from jacksfilms himself also didn't help as this was the only advertising the game received, meaning only jacksfilms' viewership was aware this game existed rather than the audience that garnered around Jackbox through word of mouth and genuine experiences. As a result, the hype and player base was short-lived, looking at the SteamDB page for this game shows 0 players online and rarely 1 to 2 players in the last 24 hours. Given this game was a PARTY game, no online players ensures the death of this title. According to other players, the servers for this game have also gone offline to reduce the already major money loss this game was to its sole investor. Rendering this game completely unplayable in its current state. I hope that the team and studio that worked on this title was able to use this game as a stepping stone into better positions and offers within the industry as it did seem like a well-put-together experience without many issues. The art team found a good blend of goofy and swanky but posh with its setting and design. The music choice was notable, showing off Jack's background in music composition. The character customization was decent, and the options, while limited, definitely carried the same charm the rest of the game had. However, I give this game a strong DO NOT PLAY, there isn't anything here worth the ~600MB install time.
When the fajitas come out sizzlin
i guess ill have to be funny later
it should've been a browser game like gartic phone or krunker.io where you just send a link through e.g. discord and play right away. without even text chat this game didn't work as well as it could have when playing with strangers only (i played cards against humanity on vr chat desktop mode, the card game's morbidity and vr chat's degeneracy meshed wonderfully together. i wish i could experience it again and again.), that the only other stimuli was elevator music remixes of certified jacksfilms bangers didn't help. it makes me sad that jo(h)n arbuckle douglass never figured it out.
Discontinued and abandoned, Why are you still able to download this if the servers are shut down?
