Yes Battleships with a little twist... Bugs a little. Hangs in the middle of a game now and then. Thats a little annoying. Otherwise its ok!
I was looking for a game that is similar to the original battleship game. This unfortunately is not like the original game and they do not provide any explanations as to what the details are that are different from the original battleship board/plastic case type game. The graphics are very cool though when a ship does sink or a bomb drops. It is just that some things that happen while playing make no sense.
Game gave me aids and autism, 100% Recommend also Theobald is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥, he hit me 4 or 5 times then he missed the next 4 shots. He is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ pls
Battleships: Command of the Sea, developed by Ancient Games and published by CreativeForge Games, is a turn-based naval strategy title that expands upon the familiar structure of classic grid-based battleship games. Drawing inspiration from World War II naval warfare—particularly the Pacific Theater—it frames its engagements around hidden fleet deployment, calculated strikes, and the gradual unraveling of an opponent’s position. While rooted in a simple concept, the game attempts to introduce additional tactical layers through commander abilities, faction differences, and multiplayer competition. The core gameplay remains centered on the iconic grid battlefield. Before combat begins, players strategically position their ships within their own concealed map, aiming to outwit the enemy through placement and anticipation. Once battle commences, turns alternate between players as they call out coordinates in an effort to locate and destroy opposing vessels. This familiar formula creates immediate accessibility, especially for players already familiar with traditional naval board games. However, the digital format allows for enhancements beyond mere coordinate guessing. One of the most notable additions is the commander system. Players select from different admirals representing either the United States or Imperial Japanese fleets, each bringing unique abilities that can influence the course of battle. These skills might reveal partial enemy locations, enhance attack potency, or provide defensive advantages. Resource management becomes essential, as abilities often require timing and careful activation. This layer of tactical decision-making shifts the experience from pure deduction to strategic resource allocation, rewarding foresight and adaptability. Single-player mode offers AI-controlled opponents of varying difficulty levels, allowing newcomers to grasp mechanics and experiment with different commanders. While the AI can provide a reasonable challenge, the game’s structure truly shines in multiplayer matches. Facing human opponents introduces unpredictability and psychological strategy, as players attempt to read patterns, bluff through ship placement, and anticipate ability usage. Online matches bring tension and replayability that extend beyond the relatively straightforward AI engagements. Visually, the presentation is minimalistic and functional. The interface emphasizes clarity over spectacle, ensuring that grids, ship markers, and ability icons are easy to interpret. Animations are modest, focusing primarily on explosions and confirmation of hits rather than elaborate cinematic sequences. This design choice maintains focus on tactical clarity but may feel understated to players expecting immersive naval simulations. Sound effects complement the experience with simple cues for hits, misses, and ability activations, reinforcing feedback without overwhelming the strategic pacing. The pacing itself is deliberate and methodical. Matches unfold gradually, with each revealed ship segment narrowing the possibilities and intensifying tension. However, some players may find that the limited map variety and relatively narrow gameplay scope restrict long-term depth. While commander abilities add variation, the core grid structure remains consistent throughout. The balance between simplicity and depth can be divisive—accessible for casual strategy fans, yet potentially lacking the complexity sought by hardcore naval wargamers. Ultimately, Battleships: Command of the Sea offers a digital reinterpretation of a timeless naval duel concept, enhanced by light strategic mechanics and competitive multiplayer. It does not attempt to simulate full-scale naval warfare or intricate historical campaigns, but rather focuses on refined, turn-based tactical exchanges. For players who appreciate thoughtful planning, psychological mind games, and incremental tension within a structured grid framework, it provides an engaging experience. While not revolutionary, it successfully blends classic battleship mechanics with modern strategy elements to create a measured and approachable naval strategy game. Rating: 6/10
noob optimize game
I guess I'm done with this game...I can't continue a campaign without the game crashing and closing. It was fun while it lasted. If they fix this issue, I'll change my review to a thumbs up.
