Battle Knights

Not really good game and I asked a refund. It doesn't even deserve the 62 cents I paid for it. First of all, the developer states it is "Controller compatible" while in fact it is not. One should run a third-party emulator to process controller input. This clearly contradicts the feature listed. Since the controller is not actually supported, all multiplayer features are also impossible to use since the game will only recognise the keyboard (which can only be Player 1). By the way the developer simply locked posts asking for help. Platforming is stupidly easy in certain points and unnecessarily hard at other times. With spikes having a collision mask on all sides and jumps being weird, you can't even reliably avoid them (or even purposely die). After 10 minutes I had already seen everything that the game has to offer: some cute retro visuals and nothing more.

Didn't have to play this one very long to realize how big of a waste of time this was. Not to mention that I lost 3 dollars. This game is exactly what it looks like: a generic 2d platformer. But, it is so stale that it is virtually unplayable. No redeemable features what-so-ever. Hope the developers make a better platformer with lore that took more than two minutes to come up with.

Battle Knights is a half-decent retro side-scrolling platformer, the length of which is entirely dependent on your skill at such games. I think I'm pretty alright at platformers but it's not really my forte, so this game is probably average to slightly difficult. The optional stuff though is another story entirely, playing with a friend we tried them and I could tell I would NOT be able to do them; He, being better than me did beat 'em with some trial and error. Speaking of, the co-op I feel adds little, it is nice to have a buddy help with some parts full of enemies. But ultimately, because the screen follows Player 1 and Parsec or Steam remote play can only do so much for input lag, it's not ideal for Player 2. Pretty decent get at the asking price, if its your bag of chips, it gets a solid recommend.

Battle Knights is a pretty fun game. Simple controls, fairly short, and goes from hard to EXTREMELY HARD in like two seconds. So, if you are looking for a fun platformer that is cheap, 10/10 would recommend. Has some multiplayer integration but, it is only local so, you will have to use the remote play function on steam and that requires pretty good internet to play *without* input delay. But, aside from that, it is a really fun game. Like I said, the controls are very simple, left to right and a jump as well as a weapon swipe and shield. And they are very polished as well, nothing feels super clunky other then the fact that it feels like you fall a little quicker then what is comfortable but, only a little. When I say fairly short I mean like, maybe 5 hours worth of gameplay. And most of it you will spend retrying levels over and over again. I spent probably half an hour on a challenge stage that was super short but, incredibly difficult. But, 5 hours out of a 3$ game? That's pretty good. I sometimes only get 10 hours out of 60$ game so, getting so much content out of something that feels priced for a mobile game store is pretty impressive. This game is HARD. Especially if you try to beat everything like I did. Some of these levels are 'Bloody Trapland' level of difficult or, like someone also said in the reviews here, like 'I wanna be the guy'. The bosses, though simple and heavily pattern based, have such tight timing windows for attacks and dodging. Some of the challenge stages, like previously stated, can get so challenging that you will spend upwards of half-an hour trying to beat when the solution takes 5 seconds to complete, that is how tight some of the timing windows are in the game. Coming from someone who has had experience in speed running games, the near frame perfect shenanigans you have to do in this game didn't really put me off but, I know it will put some people off. So, if you are looking for a mildly challenging platformer, this one is not for you. If you are looking for one that is going to give you orgasmic catharsis after beating one level, you found it. Overall, as I said at the beginning of this long winded review, this game is really fun. Plus, it is dirt cheap for the content you get out of it (and just in general, like seriously, only 3$???).

I really don't care how hard or fun the game itself is, the story was cool and the game somehow turned my flat screen LED monitor into a curved CRT from 20 years ago. Even if that image effect makes me feel a little sick, the game feels like it has tons of potential and I'm sure I'll return to it later.

Game wont start,goes to main menu and thats it.I have to crash it to make it stop.
