Are you used to being a noble knight in shining armor who protects the weak and punishes the evil ones? Sure, you might answer, everybody wants to see oneself as one - especially in a game. But did you consider which price you would have to pay for it in your real life?

King's bounty
Great phlisophy in this game it really made me think for a while and where is siege man did I take that perk for nothing anyway being good is ain't easy SPOILER its a shame that you can't have a good ending I even tried using cheat engine and giving me 100 aut but when I chose to rebel against him game just thinks I made 37 aut by rules and gives me bad ending but I tired using cheat engine in the middel of the game so I did kill lorens but I supported the abbot and the doctor ( and I don't know how to save the first man he was a steward wasn't he ) maybe I will try makeing everyting lawful and then rebel aganist him but I don't think it will work this game is so old that it takes 2 minutes to process next dialogue it was very short as it was hard as to complete even with cheats so main idea is a bastard wants to be a good boi meanwhile a rightfull heir wants to be a bastard man ying yang is everywhere
Bastard, developed and published by Aterdux Entertainment, is a compact narrative-driven tactical RPG that prioritizes moral tension and grounded storytelling over mechanical complexity or visual spectacle. Set within the same universe as Legends of Eisenwald, it strips away the broader scope of that series and instead focuses on a more intimate, character-centered tale. The game presents itself less as a heroic adventure and more as a somber exploration of choices made under pressure, where outcomes are rarely satisfying and consequences tend to linger. The narrative is the centerpiece, following a story that blends elements of medieval drama with investigative undertones. Rather than casting the player as a clear-cut protagonist, the game places them in situations where motivations are murky and outcomes are uncertain. Much of the experience unfolds through dialogue and decision-making, with conversations shaping both the direction of the plot and the player’s perception of the characters involved. The writing leans into realism, presenting a world where ideals are difficult to uphold and even well-intentioned actions can produce unintended harm. This approach gives the game a reflective tone, though it can occasionally feel constrained, with certain story beats lacking the depth needed to fully explore their implications. Gameplay alternates between these narrative segments and turn-based tactical encounters. Combat takes place on grid-based maps, where positioning, turn order, and basic resource management determine the flow of battle. The mechanics are straightforward and easy to grasp, drawing from familiar strategy RPG conventions without introducing many new ideas. While this simplicity keeps the focus on the story, it also limits the sense of challenge and variety. Battles rarely evolve beyond their basic structure, and over time they begin to feel more like routine interruptions than meaningful extensions of the narrative. Choice plays an important role in shaping the experience, with decisions influencing both immediate events and the broader trajectory of the story. Multiple endings provide some incentive to revisit the game, and there are moments where the consequences of earlier actions become apparent in subtle ways. However, the impact of these choices is not always consistent. Some decisions carry significant weight, altering the course of events in noticeable ways, while others feel less consequential, creating an uneven sense of agency. Even so, the overall emphasis on moral ambiguity helps maintain the game’s thematic focus, encouraging players to reflect on their decisions rather than simply optimize for the best outcome. Visually, Bastard adopts a restrained, almost understated aesthetic. The environments and character models are functional, conveying the setting without drawing much attention to themselves. This minimalism aligns with the game’s grounded tone but also highlights its limitations. Locations lack distinct visual identity, and the presentation rarely enhances the storytelling in a meaningful way. The atmosphere relies more on the writing and subject matter than on graphical detail, which can make the world feel somewhat flat despite its thematic intentions. Pacing is another area where the game shows its limitations. The story unfolds at a measured pace, which can work well during moments of tension or reflection, but extended dialogue sequences occasionally slow the experience without adding sufficient depth. Combat encounters, rather than providing a dynamic contrast, often feel too brief or mechanically simple to meaningfully break up these slower segments. Combined with a relatively short overall length, this can leave the game feeling less developed than its premise suggests. Despite these shortcomings, Bastard stands out for its willingness to engage with difficult themes. It does not offer easy answers or clear moral victories, instead presenting a world where choices are shaped by necessity as much as by intention. This focus gives the game a distinct identity, even if its execution does not fully realize its potential. It feels less like a traditional RPG and more like a narrative experiment built around a familiar framework. In the end, Bastard is a modest but thoughtful experience that succeeds in delivering a grounded and morally complex story, even if its gameplay and presentation remain relatively simple. It may not appeal to players seeking deep tactical systems or expansive worlds, but those interested in character-driven narratives and ethical dilemmas will find something worth engaging with. Its impact lies more in what it asks the player to consider than in what it offers mechanically. Rating: 6/10
Загвоздка заключается в том что "правильные" решения это навязанные разработчиками видения мира и заключаются они в слогане игры "it's not free to be good" быть хорошим не бесплатно.
