Hilarious and well thought-out. Like Dungeon Keeper crossed with Blade and Sorcery.
This is one of those Legit VR games reminds me of a game that was shut down called "The Might Quest for Epic Loot " but this is in VR
Barring huge triple A games like Skyrim this is probably the best VR game I have ever played. Even outside the context of VR games it's a very unique and interesting idea. The game is fun, easy to pick up, and has a good variety of enemies, challenges, equipment to unlock etc.. Where it really shines is in the asynchronous multiplayer and ability for players to design their realms, which provides a much greater variety of content than most other VR games. It's also a decent workout with near constant movement. Not on the level of something like Thrill of the Fight, but I would say it is on average notably more physically intense than, e.g., taking a walk. It's not unusual for some parts (e.g. the archery minigame) to push my heart rate past 160bpm. Between that and the fact it's actually fun to play for an hour plus I'd say it's a pretty decent fitness game, even if it may not look like that on the surface. While I'm personally not bothered by it, I will note the game relies on smooth movement so it may not be ideal for people who are newer to VR and struggling with motion sickness.

A very unique experience. Its no perfect game by any means but it is definately fun and motivates to keep going. Specialy the beginning is kinda confusing because everything just vanishes and later pops up where its supposed to be. Difficulty ramps up quickly. Performance could be better. I also had a wierd black flickering issue which i could solve by launching the game directly through steam (or it just needed a restart) - did launch it before through virtual desktop itself. Combat is a bit wanky but still fun. Will definately keep playing it - feel like there is alot of fun to be had and probably alot of content to be discovered. The recorded runs are very fun to watch. Recommended - specialy on sale!
clash of clans but awesome massive fan of the dungeon building because I can get my a*s beat in an all new way
Works on Reverb G2. Barbaria is an arcadey VR slasher with async online PvP of building and defending your realm. It's very similar to Gorn with its cartoony violence, art style and sense of humor. Combat is a bit simple compared to something like B&S or Hellsplit, but still fun. Juggling enemies or throwing around stuff is very satisfying, and combat animations are fluid. I do not personally like huge hitboxes for blocking and parrying, but at least it allows AI to be able to defend itself better than in most VR melee arenas. Main gameplay loop of building your defenses and attacking other people's ones is also quite addictive. I've spent a lot of time watching replays, improving rooms layout and getting revenge on players that successfully raided my realm. You can micromanage and upgrade almost every piece of equipment, unit or building, using resources acquired from every raid/defense. It starts feeling a bit repetitive in a few hours, once you finish every challenge room and try rogue-like mode, but by this time I was already hooked and spent several more hours grinding. Visuals are ok, but optimization is lacking. I could not play the game at all on RX 6800 XT due to poor performance, and even on RTX 5080 there are still some occasional screen stutters present despite steadily capped FPS (but that is very likely to be Nvidia drivers fault). The developers supported the game way after its release and it is still getting minor monthly content updates and bugfixes, which is a huge plus.
I you've ever played The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot; this is pretty much that in VR without all the BS microtransactions that it had, which is no complaint from me. Game is fun, and gets updated pretty regularly. I don't have too many hours in this game as of writing this, but I plan to change that soon as I am recently getting back into VR.
What if you bashed GORN and Mighty Quest for Epic Loot together? (and maybe a hint of MGSV's FOB system) This, basically. It's good fun. A bit frustrating if you're not particularly good at the combat side of things, and it could with a few more NPC Challenges since the player-created 'dungeons' tend to be optimized as well as possible to invoke invader-frustration. Sadly, invading is a borderline necessary portion of the gameplay, so I fear that I'll have to get accustomed to the "2 Losses - 1 Win" routine so my ranking keeps placing me at a level where my lame skills can stand a chance. All in all though, seems to really nail what it's setting out to do, and that's good.
great fun.
this is unbelievably underrated but the issue of being unable to play after accidentally turning off my meta quest for a second needs to be fixed
