Ball Fall
Conclusion - Only buy this game when on sale and you are happy that with your money you are receiving a "First Project.vs" game. As the developer said in one of their replies to another review, this game is literally his toe dip in the bathtub that is Steam. If you have this game already, please play it and give an honest review. Pros: - The ball falls. - Actually has music. - Actually has sound effects. - Moderately okay physics. - Good gameplay tells. - A working (local) highscore board. Cons: - Ball is super clingy to the paddles. Acts like a tennis ball on a velcro patch. - The only tell that's not great are the paddles that break as you fall onto them. I only noticed the slight colour difference in my last attempt. - The RNG is pretty terrible at times. The ball can fall into a position that's impossible to get out of or a staircase to hell can literally appear. Most (if not all) ball falls have some RNG base but usually have exceptions in place to make it physically probable for the player to succeed and require the player to actually think about their movements. - I don't know if anyone has found this glitch but I bounced on a bouncy paddle and hit the bottom of another one, once I had it completely and utterly stuck to it and the paddle stayed centre screen, breaking all paddles it touched carrying me through the game. This game is honestly a good first start but needs some fine tuning to be considered worthy of monetary value. It is a game worthy of its title as a ball fall but that's about it. With some tweaks and fine tuning the game will be able to show itself proudly along with all the other generic, uninspired Ball Fall games, much like any game I attempt at making myself. Ball Fall is a game where you play as a ball, and you fall. It may seem like a simple, low-budget game, but it acts as a true allegory of the meaning of life. You are born into the world of Ball Fall. You aren't given any instructions, but you know that your aim is to fall. It is an instinct of you and the ball. You fall as the world progresses, regardless of whether you want to fall. Unfortunately, this isn't a matter of whether you want to fall or not, but that you have to in order to survive. The world of Ball Fall is harsh, as by simply performing your only desire to fall, you are faced with adversity. Electrically charged platforms and fake tiles will be in the path ahead. However, the danger isn't only ahead, as electrically charged platforms that you have passed will come back to haunt you as they approach unexpectedly. As you face the challenges of the world of Ball Fall, there are helpful power-ups along the way. The ability to defy falling. A way to make your ball not fall. There are many ways to delay the inevitable; however, it will always be on the horizon. Even if you conquer all of these adversities, the only thing that awaits at the end of the line is death. You can try to defy it. You can even try to embrace it. However, death will always come, and how you choose to make your ball fall is what truly matters at the end of the day. (P.S. Don't play this horrible game lmao)
Недоигра, в которой нужно катить шарик вниз и чтобы он не выходил за края падающего вниз экрана. Жуткая хрень. Даже минусы писать не хочется. Нуль!
DEVELOPER/PUBLISHER: Charles Meekins THE BASICS Ball Fall is a simple game in theory. In fact I've seen phone games very similar to it. You, my friend, are a ball. A red Ball. The play field moves up the screen vertically. If you don't jump quickly enough you will die when you hit the top of the play field. So you must jump. Your aim is to land on another horizontal platform. If you land on a blue one with lightning effects inside it you die. These blue platforms will at times fall from the sky, taking out the standard platforms. And you if you're not careful. There are various objects that you try and pass thru, such as yellow hoops, white hoops, etc. During the game your current Score, High Score (that session), and number of Jumps will be displayed at the top of the screen in yellow. Easy to see as the play field background is mostly blue. There are red platforms, which cause you to bounce. Don't bounce too high, or you will hit the top of the play field and die. You only get one life. SCORING You earn a point for each successful fall. I don't know what you earn, if anything, for passing thru hoops and such. I'm too busy trying not to die to notice. There is a Local Leaderboard titled Top Ten Players. You type your name. You are either proud, or ashamed, depending on how well you play this game. My High Score currently is 126. I'm not so proud, but then I'm not ashamed either. The game remembers your scores from one session to the next. CONTROLS Keyboard only. Arrow keys. PHYSICS You can change direction mid-air. MUSIC Well, it's there. It causes your head to bounce. But the same tune repeats. You don't mind, which is good, as you can't turn it off. SCREENSHOTS What screenshots? You can't take any. If you wish to share your High Score you must go old school and take a photo. Now where's that Polaroid? THE ATARI CONNECTION There exists a homebrew for the Atari 2600 called Fall Guy with the same premise. It has better graphics, but then with such a basic game how fancy do they need to be? Besides, it's missing that head-bouncing tune this game has. CONCLUSION Addicting in small doses. I don't play it often but when I do I have a hard time stopping. Recommended.
I could see this game being fun for a while if any movements were smooth. It feels like the ball is moving through mud even when moving side to side on a platform. The music was pretty good but no settings that I could find for resolution or audio.
It's a lot worse than it looks.
Good simple idea for game that you could relax with. But this game is not good. Ball movement is very bad and buggy and because this you lose very fast. Graphics is simple but game takes full screen and most is just black. No options for change window mode.
1/10 sometimes, or quite often, it`s ridiculous that there is no choice at all except = Fall. not sure if this game has sarcastic title xD bad gameplay design spoils all the game ;D
