I bought this because I was curious and I saw that one of the party members was a busty nudist. I wanted to like it. It has some clever writing that genuinely made me laugh several times. The gameplay was actually fun and had a good mix of challenging and rewarding. I respected the dev saying this was his dream job and he was passionate about it. But I question that passion when the game uses machine-learning-algorithm*-generated content for the character portraits and voice work. (*colloquially, and inaccurately, called "AI") The fact that the dev would be passionate about his creative works as a game maker and then callously steal the voice work of voice actors and the artwork of actual artists and somehow think it was okay simply because he used a program as a middleman. I even saw in his Discord server that he's used more such programs for some of the writing, to steal from other writers and put into his game. I'm having trouble actually accepting his passion in his dream job as a game dev when he uses so much algorithm-based theft in his game. And it's not like I can see why such theft is worth it. The portraits give me serious uncanny valley and the machine-learning-algirithm-generated stolen voice work is just... it sounds flat and has this bizarre, unnatural quality to it that makes every voice line sound incredibly creepy. I liked how self-aware the parody in this game was. But that self-awareness clearly didn't extend to how creepy and uncanny valley the use of machine-learning-algorithm-generated asset theft was. If the dev ever decides to remove the machine-learning-algorithm-generated asset theft, I'll consider this game again. EDIT 1: Despite tagging his game with machine-learning-algorithm-generated asset theft, the dev insists that the art is all hand-drawn, even though it looks like stereotypical AI "art." When asked who the artist was that he commissioned to make them and why he won't credit said artist, the dev changes the subject. If he were truly innocent, then he wouldn't be withholding evidence like that. EDIT 2: I "deleted comments" because the dev said he had no interest in continuing this conversation, yet others did. They also made up ad hominem attacks and nonsensical defenses of machine-learning-algorithim-generated asset theft. Since the dev did not want our conversation to continue, I simply chose to delete the ones trying to force it going beyond the dev's wishes. Curious that the dev, caught using stolen assets, wants them to keep going despite saying he didn't want this to keep going. Also, the dev outs himself as believing that "being caught stealing assets using an algorithm" is"ideological" which shows his true colors. EDIT 3: Since the techbros have started invading, here's some videos on why AI is theft and use of it in this game is a scam. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dWjLJWsPI7o https://youtu.be/IYS_uuUjQbY?t=2509 (41:49) EDIT 4: Wow, what is it about machine-learning-algorithm-generated asset theft that draws incredibly toxic and ignorant people? I even left videos explaining things and people still left comments trying to defend blatant theft and scams. One guy even said he wouldn't watch the second video because it was about NFTs, even though I literally linked AND gave the time in the video where he talks about AI asset theft scamming. Another insists that me deleting comments is why he won't believe any of this despite me explaining why I deleted the comments. I'm starting to genuinely think that AI techbros, in addition to lazy get-rich-quick grifters, are simply too dumb for basic media literacy at this point. It's like the ones who aren't part of the con are so dumb, they are incapable of realizing and uncaring of the fact that the dev is clearly scamming them with art and voice work theft. Marks really are too prideful of their gullibility to be able to admit when they're being conned. EDIT 5: Newest guy (who came in so late he might need a pregnancy test) claims he bought the game because this person who knows what a scam AI "art" is here and wrote the review where the game dev got mad he was caught stealing is "an ass tool." He fails to realize how much he's projecting because the fact he claims he only bought the game to spite one person effectively means this person has control over his wallet. Does this mean I'm findomming him? Probably. He seems too much of a tool himself to use his disposable income on anything that isn't based solely on other people's wishes. The fact he thinks that would do anything other than prove how dependant he is on others to direct his spending for him makes me pity him. Either way AI techbros continue to prove to all be terrible people or too stupid for basic comprehension and the dev continues lying about the AI theft he already used in the game and refusing to name this mysterious artist or this mysterious program he claims the art and voices came from despite an innocent man having no reason to withhold evidence that would exonerate him. And these AI techbros are too stupid to fail to see just how self-reporting that is. They love theft and hate actual artists that this game couldn't have been made without the theft of their work. Wonder if they lost access to their NFTs before getting into AI grifts?
The Dev is cool and writes interesting stories. The humour is on point, and the combat is challenging. This might not be Memoirs of a Battle Brothel, but I've been enjoying it so far.
Honestly one of the most annoying RPGs I've ever played. The awkward UI, the flat voice acting that seems like AI unless I'm mistaken (which constantly narrates the spoken text, distracting my reading), the weak humor (why is a parody game so dull in tone?), the mechanics constantly punishing me for not knowing how they work ahead of time, etcetera. The whole game is just grating on my nerves despite my efforts to enjoy it. It's a tedious, lifeless experience where one hour feels like six, and porn being somewhere inside is not worth the utter lack of charisma the whole package provides. I don't regret backing it on Kickstarter, but I sincerely hope the creator uses that money to make something less lethargic next time. Please incorporate fun into the next game.
This game still has some bugs, but after reporting a major one that prevented me from progressing, the developer responded to my review, researched it and put out a patch fixing it. I just verified it is fixed and I was able to progress past that point. The game has a quirky battle system, and the game is incredibly difficult at the start and gets easier if you can get past your first few fights.
I had some much hope for this game but it's boring and the sex is no good
Fun little game. I'm enjoying the humor and the combat system isn't too odd (though I do play the dev's other games so I'm used to some of the quirks already)
How to make a lunch Twafflo 1 hard taco shell (which you will need to have tacoed into shape beforehand) 1 small waffle (which you will need to have waffled into being beforehand) 1 tablespoon peanut butter (crunchy or creamy) 1 tablespoon jam or jelly (Marionberry jam is superior but can use peasant jams instead) Coat the sides of your taco in peanut butter. Put jam into the waffle and fold it in half. Put your waffle into your taco. Buy a video game solely to give the developer money, without any intention of playing it. Laugh at the metahumor for a couple of minutes. Leave an off-topic review. Serve with microwaved tea
Its good so far. LIght hearted and funny
