Power-ups are back and crazier than ever, adding chaos and fun to every game. Pitchers can unleash FIRE BALLS, CRAZY BALLS, and FREEZEBALLS on unsuspecting hitters, while batters can wield CRAZY BUNTS, UNDERGROUNDERS, and the legendary ALUMINUM POWER BAT to rack up runs.

Backyard Baseball is iconic because we play the game a little differently than most. Follow these rules and let the fun begin!
PICK YOUR TEAM: Choose from 30 beloved Backyard kids to assemble your roster.
SET YOUR LINE UP: Assign positions and a batting order. Choose wisely!
PLAY LIKE A KID: In the Backyard there are no injuries, and while all kids make errors, it is a feature you can turn off. Need to use a tee? No problem! There are plenty of ways to customize your experience, but above all: have fun and Play Like a Kid™!

Wow man for $40 its clear this is a cash grab. Just go buy any of the old ones they are way better and 1/4 of the price. This game is nothing but frustrating. I thought it would be fun with some new polish but its just not. You will get a hit that bounces off the wall and be an out somehow but the cpu does the same to you and you catch it off the wall and its not an out. Add in there are certain spots where the ball can go and get stuck, on the cement field it can go behind the dumpster and I couldnt get back there but good old pablo ran from 2b walked thru one of the dumpsters and got the ball. You get base hits that are thrown out even with the most speedy of players just because your playing on a harder difficulty. All of the generic players are fast and have cannons again just because your on a harder difficulty, it makes them all feel the same instead of keeping it fresh with unique players to play against. Half the time when your fielding you get selected to the worst player possible. Im 10 games into my first season with this 9-1 on the starting hardest difficulty but this game has been so frustrating to even play with so many stupid things happening I don't even want to finish it. Loved the backyard series back in the day even the old slow nonsense in those games was at least made very well with some cool stuff in them. The MOST damning thing of all $40 no multiplayer.
pablo was there
A lot of great things about the game and the potential is definitely there, but I recommend putting it on your wishlist and waiting for a sale. Pros True to the source material Many game modes, and unlockable kids and parks offer a lot of long-term playability Zero microtransactions Cons No online mode. I get that they want the online mode to run well, but they could at least make Steam Remote Play work like it did in the demo. I have not found a workaround to get Steam Remote Play working. This is my biggest grievance. Like, they had Steam Remote Play working in the demo, how did they mess this up? Unless it was on purpose to get more people to buy the game. The pitching can be a bit boring and monotonous. You can throw a perfect pitch far outside the strike zone, and it seems like placement or timing doesn't really matter. There just seems to be a % chance of the player making contact and hitting a home run or line drive to the outfield regardless of what pitch you throw, where you place it, or if you get the release timing right. Why are some unlockable characters just stickers on the fence? Please add them to the bleachers. Like, what is that about? My concern is that the developers got greedy, released the game early at a seemingly high price, and now that the daily player count and sales have not been so great, I worry there is a chance they will see the project as a failure and stop investing resources into it. I hope this is not the case, because the potential is definitely there. They just need to focus on the player experience and stop being greedy. Devs, if you are reading this, please put the game on sale to increase the player count, and if you are not going to add online play soon, then at least make Steam Remote Play work as intended.

good
this is a really fun game to play when you're bored or have nothing to do, when the game first came out back in July, gameplay sucked and was buggy, but after the new patch that came out today, gameplay is A LOT better now.
