didnt play much but the game is good for a platfotmer, would recommend
ok so basically this is a cool game. found it from youtube recommendations of all things (also i only played the first chapter so take this with like, 2 grains of salt and 8 shakes of pepper and a 3 course meal) i like the aesthetics, but after some time they do get a bit hard to look at. the movement is really fun but is much more horizontally based, while the levels are mostly vertical. none of the sound worked aside from cutscenes, which means no music or sfx which i was excited to hear. chapter 2's first level was just a black screen after the cutscene and idk if it was intentional because i'd assume i'd not be able to exit the level during an unskippable cutscene, so i literally can't play chapter 2 ignoring all the bugs, basically my only complaint is that visual clarity is a bit confusing sometimes, especially with how some of the red tiles dont kill you for some reason also idk if im like, biased, but the game feels very slightly overpriced the movement in this game is fantastic. i love how i can just spam jump to build up infinite speed, and the slam is a really useful tool for stopping and also just really fun to use. i have zero clue what's going on in the story, but it seems interesting. (if only the dialog wasnt like, 20% swears) tldr; game is fun but (imo) needs a lot of minor adjustments. i'll keep this in my sights for when it updates :)

when i read the description saying "a world that hates you" i expected a more harsh and unfair game that you have to fight your way though, but mostly this game is pretty fair and fun, if challenging. this more comes in the form of some gags and trolls, including some small jumpscares. mostly though the levels are pretty ordinary, some do have a bit more exploration and optional paths which is really nice, though the secrets were a little less plentyfull than i was hoping for. in general this game is pretty great for speedrunning, the levels have a timer, the levels themselves are not too long and have some optional paths which can make trying to route a speedrun path through them pretty fun. the characters movement is momentum based, which allows you to go pretty fast if youre skilled at the game. the character is a little slippery and not precise which may take a bit to be used to, but i found it really fun just moving around. though the levels themselves are mostly pretty cramped and dont seem to be really designed which the characters speed and slipperiness in mind, which does make it so mostly i didnt really get to use the movement to its full capability. the style and atmosphere of the game is pretty great, the art has a really cool and unique style that is definitly not for most people i really enjoyed. the music can sometimes be pretty grating on the ears, but i really liked it and it had a lot of style and added to the weird atmosphere, even if a little repetitive. the story is mostly brought to you in some notes scattered around or a few words from npcs, and seems to be pretty interesting and adds to the atmosphere, even if i only put together half of it. there is some hebrew probably will look to most players like an ancient crypted language but is mostly some gags and intentionally stupid things which are pretty fun to read since it makes it feel like the developer had fun writing them. the game does seem to come from israel since it has a lot of its slangs and culture in the writing, so if this is Dealbreaker for you i definitly recommend not buying this game. not that much content is in the game currently, but i would still recommend it if youre looking for unique and weird games. it is incredibly impressive that this was made by a 13 year, and i look forward towards the third chapter of this game. since this game is still in development its very likely though that i will edit this review based on the changes.
as the goblin who composed for this ♥♥♥♥-ass game i can proudly say that this game made me want to eat fiberglass and then cry myself to sleep every night. 10/10 this is the best platformer game ever
A Surreal Masterpiece - Hard to believe it started at age 12! AYIN is a truly remarkable experience that caught me off guard with its depth and atmosphere. This isn't just another platformer; it’s a serious, surreal journey that demands your attention. The visual style is striking, and the movement mechanics feel incredibly polished. What blew me away even more is the story behind the game. The developer began coding and designing this world at the age of 12, and now at 14, has officially launched it on Steam. Knowing this makes the experience even more impactful—you can feel the dedication and the unique vision in every level. From the mysterious 'running flower' to the challenging 'troll' mechanics, the game is full of creative surprises that keep you hooked. It’s rare to find an indie project with such a distinct soul. If you love atmospheric, challenging games with a deep sense of mystery, you have to play AYIN. Huge respect to the young creator for this achievement!
Well done, keep going!
Cool platformer, john ayin no diffs all fiction
TLDR. AYIN is a well put together game with good art and movement. While hard, it's worth keeping with it to see its many interesting and/or charming moments. It's for sure worth a look if you're a fan of weirder games. For more details, read on. (Tiny note for full honesty I was a playtester. I played it all front to back before it released. I talked to dev some as well, but I promise my feelings are purely my own and are not biased by this.) AYIN is a rage game, and as one, it likes to pull a lot of tricks and ruses on you. These moments to me acted as the magic spice, one of the big things that kept me going. Every level had something up its sleeve, and it was fun to see it's array of trickery. This is helped partly by the level of difficulty. It hits a good spot. It's hard enough to make beating a level rewarding, yet not overly so that it takes days of work to get anywhere. I also enjoyed it's movement. You can pick up good speed (when used right), and is kept simple to use, only using a few core actions. That in mind, there is one thing that I wish were a little different. You press Spacebar to jump, press it again midair and you can ground pound. Then, if pressed a third time you fall faster, which triggers a super jump when hitting the ground. All fine on paper, but together equals out to more spacebar mashing then I would wish for. Let's move on to visuals and sound. The art has a look I quite enjoy. Backgrounds are pitch black, as if all the levels take place at night (which they very well might), with a main color palette made of bright 0F colors. It's held together with a fair amount of dithering. I also noticed some solid color language, with pink for player and a red/green mix for anything that harms you. I don't have a lot to say about the general sound design. What I have more to say about sound-wise is the OST. It reminds me a fair amount of Cruelty Squad's, a game AYIN takes a large spoon full of DNA from. My feelings towards both are similar. While it's not my cup of tea, it IS befitting the game it's built for, and plays a part in creating it's general atmosphere. It's a game that is very itself, being full of character in a way AAA games rarely, if ever, like all the best indies. Even with the few flaws I talked about, is very much worth checking out to drink in its unique blend, the AYIN blend. AYIN is the most AYIN AYIN I know, and that makes it a good AYIN. I'm looking forward to Chapter 3.
Good game fr
AYIN – Un RPG?
