As a long time board gamer with the Axis & Allies game, this is pretty close to the mark. I've only been playing for a few hours, but I am really enjoying it. Still got some learning to do, and sometimes the game play (movement) of the computer is too fast for me to keep up with, but I am sure that I will learn that.
Super fun, has a lot of strategy that you learn from other player that makes the dynamic fun and interesting way better than to set up the board game for 30 minutes haha.

super fun - play solo - play with friends - learn history - imagine the real carnage and say a prayer for those we lost in the real war - do everything in your power to avoid a repeat of that devastation
Axis and Allies 1942 is one of the best turn based strategy games Iv'e ever played. The amount of variations and level of challenge has kept me playing for many enjoyable hours.
The "random" dice rolls in this game can be hilariously bad, and the computer AI makes laughable decisions (not defending home territories, making attacks with an overkill-amount of troops while leaving other territories open to attack), and it's difficult to change the initial setup of the game pieces in order to better achieve a somewhat historical battle. There are no advanced industrial output rolls like the original board game either, nor are their any plans to add some apparently. The Devs aren't necessarily "open" to criticism either unfortunately. It can be a frustrating game to play, but, if you're tired of playing old board games, it might be worth a try playing this game, if you can get it for cheap enough.
The game is full of hackers, there is no Anti cheat, game is not worth buying or playing.
Not going to lie, the last time I played my Axis & Allies boardgame must have been 10y ago or more. But playing this I can say it feels like a decently accurate representation of that. Since it's made to be played turn-based, it's perfect for those who want to boardgame without too much setup.
It's pretty good. The fact that you can't move between non-combat moves and mobilization is pretty annoying (makes it easy to make mistakes that you can't undo) but other than that it's a solid digital adaptation.
way to many cheaters, they can purchase more units than their budget
Not the best game. Pretty jank, not particularly intuitive and yeah just no pretend this doesn't exist
