They never get in the way: clicks pass right through them, and a tap of ESC sends them home. Your living collection, alive on your screen.

My review for this game is similar for Amphibarium. Very fun and satisfying but I do have a couple suggestions. There needs to be a way of finding a specific baby bird from the multitude. Every time I try to click on one specific bird, it takes forever because they're all bunched up. And then when it matures, it's display doesn't say what it pays so you have to go to the list and look for it. One thing I forgot to mention in my review for Amphibarium and is the same for this game, is that some of the pay outs don't make a lot of sense. As you get rarer birds or frogs, the payouts should increase, no? Uncommon pays more than common, rare more than uncommon, epic more than rare etc. But there's some instances where an uncommon bird or frog pays more than a rare. Just something you might want to take a look at.
A cozy bird collector with a strong core
I’ve spent 9.2 hours with Aviarium so far, and I genuinely enjoyed my time with it. I picked it up because the bird theme, the sense of discovery, and the price immediately caught my attention. What kept me playing was the game’s core loop: discovering new birds, raising them, and deciding when to sell them. That loop is simple, but it works. Aviarium understands how to keep you engaged without making the experience stressful, and that is probably its biggest strength. The game hooked me pretty quickly. There is something really satisfying about starting with a small aviary, watching your birds slowly grow, feeding them to speed things up, and then getting that little moment of excitement when a new bird is discovered. That feeling never really goes away. Even several hours in, I was still looking forward to what would show up next.

What Aviarium does well
The progression feels strong enough to keep the game engaging. There is almost always another bird to discover, another upgrade to think about, and another reason to let the game run a little longer. It is definitely more idle than active, but in this case that works in the game’s favor. The atmosphere is relaxing enough that sometimes it is just nice to sit back and watch your aviary fill up with birds. One of my favorite moments in the game was seeing the aviary feel completely alive: full of birds, full of movement, and full of chirping. That was the point where everything really came together for me. The strongest parts of the game, in my opinion, are:

Rich content
A strong sense of discovery
A relaxing atmosphere
The sound design and music help a lot with that. They make the whole experience feel calm and pleasant in a way that fits the concept very well. On the technical side, I also had no problems at all. The game ran smoothly the entire time, and that matters a lot for this kind of experience.

Where the game still needs work
My main criticism is the UI. I do not think the interface ruins the game, but I do think it is the area that most needs improvement. Some menus feel scattered, some text could be easier to read, the visual hierarchy is not always clear, and certain buttons are not as intuitive as they could be. More specifically, the parts that stood out to me were:

Menus can feel a bit scattered
Text size and readability could be better
Color contrast and visual hierarchy need improvement
Some buttons are not as intuitive as they should be
This will probably bother some players more than others, but for me it was the one part of the experience that consistently felt weaker than the rest. I also think the visual art side could be pushed further. The game already has a charming foundation, but I would still like to see the overall visual quality improve over time. Since this is such an atmosphere-driven game, stronger visual polish would make a noticeable difference.

What I’d like to see in future updates
The foundation here is strong, so I will definitely be watching future updates closely. The biggest thing I want is a cleaner and more user-friendly presentation layer. Some additions and improvements I would personally love to see:

A cleaner and more modular UI
Better stats and history screens
A "Go to Bird" button in the bird window that closes the panel and focuses directly on that bird in the aviary
A redesigned Aviaries menu that is already expanded or easier to browse, with short stat info for each aviary such as current birds and total capacity
Bird sizes that feel more proportional to their real-life scale instead of having every bird look roughly the same size
These are not deal-breakers for me, but they would make the experience much more comfortable and polished.

Who I’d recommend it to
I would definitely recommend Aviarium to:

Cozy game players
Idle/clicker fans
Collectors
Bird lovers
I would not recommend it to players looking for something action-heavy or mechanically intense. This is a much calmer experience, and that is exactly what it is trying to be.

Final thoughts
Overall, I had a really good time with Aviarium. It has a relaxing identity, a satisfying discovery loop, and a lot of charm. The UI still needs work, and I think that is the clearest area for improvement, but even in its current state, the game gave me a lot of enjoyment.
I genuinely enjoyed my time with it. If you like relaxing idle games, I’d recommend it.
Very good collection/idle game! There are hundreds of species (all real) and they are colorful and well drawn. My only complain is that the dev did add a system that you can "trade" with other ppls to get the animals you dont have, but it doenst work (seems it was never finished) so as you progress it gets harder and harder to discover new species and color variations. It doenst work also in the other 2 games of the series released so far. Maybe it will be fixed. Still a thumbs up.
Il gioco di base mi piace molto, ma rispetto i giochi della "Last Day of Work" cè molto meno. I hope the developers read this review. I like the game—especially the graphics and the overall gameplay. I tried the two demos and eventually bought it, and I don’t regret it, but... I’m just really sorry that, compared to the games I’ve loved for years before Steam—Plant Tycoon and Fish Tycoon by “Last Day of Work”—the gameplay is based solely on buying chicks, raising them, and earning money from sales and passive income from the ones you keep; there’s nothing else. You can buy food, accessories, backgrounds, and more as you earn money, but that’s all there is to it. You can’t mate them, watch them hatch from eggs into birds, but only buy chicks and wait for them to grow up. I really like the core gameplay, but compared to the other “Last Day of Work” games, there’s much less to it. And that’s a shame. Maybe they could have included a relaxing mode and one where you breed pairs to wait for eggs, see possible crossbreeds, and explore color variations instead of finding them in random packs like Pokémon cards. I tried the other demo about frogs and various amphibians, and it's not bad, but it's the same as this game. I’ve seen they’re working on other games featuring different animals, and I’m looking forward to them. I like how they’ve made them, but I’ll say it again: if they had that certain something from Fish Tycoon and Plant Tycoon—where you had to play and play to find rare, special, unique, expensive, or unusual specimens through crossbreeding, experiments, diseases, and treatments, etc.—it would have been an epic game finally worthy of those two. Unfortunately, due to the graphics, the two Tycoon games aren’t really playable now, unless you have good eyesight to play on an 800x600 screen, and they haven’t released a version 2 like the original that’s adapted for modern systems—what a shame. The list of birds from around the world is wonderful, with so many species to discover and find, complete with external links to learn more about each species and access information via Google. You can rename the bird, read a profile with all the I like this series of games and recommend it to anyone who loves the genre, but that’s really all there is to it. You don’t play and play, maybe starting over by buying the first specimens, then trying, testing, crossbreeding, making discoveries, facing disappointment if they turn out normal, or hoping for special or magical specimens. There are improvements, but they don’t replace the gameplay of the two Tycoon games—maybe—and I’m sorry the game remains incomplete like this; it had all the foundations to be the new Tycoon games to replace those. There’s no challenge with diseases or setbacks like in the two Tycoon games, there’s no breeding for new specimens, the challenges of finding unique specimens through crossbreeding and experiments with those already found, and more—otherwise it would have been a fantastic game. I hope the developers read this review, perhaps to improve and expand the new games I’d buy—like these two already available—to make them more interesting. I already plan to get the new ones just like these, but it would be a shame if they stayed stuck in the current “buy, raise, sell” mode and that’s it. The relaxing mode is fine, but since the graphics and growth are already, let’s say, realistic compared to other games in the genre that are more cartoonish, it would be a real gem to have a game that takes the tycoon format and adds diseases or growth issues, breeding, discovering what will hatch and how, various attempts to find variants or special specimens, and other challenges like those with real animals. Otherwise, enjoy Aviarium, everyone!
