I'm currently a Controls Engineer and I was hoping for a more similar platform to Rockwell's RSLogix 500, 5000 software. A little disappointed because of multiple bugs and limited functionalities. First off, you are not able to create your own tags and use them to create your own custom logic. This is a huge drawback for a simulation game because the point of it all is to be able to properly test logic that you create. The one shot is bugged and does not work at all. Tags do not populate real values during run time so I have no practical way of debugging during run times. Cannot stack OTE and timers together in series or in parallel in a single rung even though you are able to in the real world. Math blocks is not complete, you are limited to >=, >, =, <=, and <. If you have have real world PLC experience, you will not like this game......I want my money back.....
How does one make programming a PLC harder than it actually is? Make a buggy video game that will frustrate the player of course! A younger coworker of mine wants to become a controls engineer at some point and mentioned that he was playing this game. Naturally I had to see what it was about given that I program PLCs for a living. The idea is good on paper, but this was poorly executed. I turned the help arrows off to see how far I could get without. On one of the first levels, it didn't let me progress because my logic wasn't identical to what the dev wanted, even though the machine worked perfectly. Once I turned the help arrows on, it let me finish the level with only a slight difference to what I had originally. A few levels later, I was asked to program a paint booth with zero instructions on how to actually paint the block. I tried every combination that I could think of to get a color other than white and it just wouldn't work. I turned the help arrows on again to see what I was missing. They wouldn't show me. Keep in mind that you are not allowed to reuse input contacts... why exactly? I've never heard of a PLC that you can't use the input in multiple places. By the way, the only way to reset the level physics without loosing your ladder is to load a saved game. Overall, this is a needlessly frustrating "game." Returned. Sorry dev, but maybe have a few people play test the game before releasing it (and charging money for it).

This game is everything I'm looking for to practice PLC. I'm a chemical engineering undergrad with an interest in controls and automation, and this game has the potential to be a full educational program. I do recommend this game, but I will say: it does not teach you how to use the more advanced tools (yet), and that's a huge barrier to some of the higher levels, starting around the painting boxes stage. I humbly ask the creators to add tutorials for some of the more advanced components, like memory and math. I can intuitively do these things while programming an Arduino, but not when an output can only have a single effect on other actions based on whether it is in a state or not in a state. Creators: feel free to contact me, I can't imagine better people to be in contact with (and potentially collaborate with???) when it comes to my engineering interests. You're awesome and you're making the world a better place.
Like the training aspect, but really wish there were ways to get hints along the way when stuck on some lessons.
I would recommend to others trying to learn, IF the game gets further updates and stuff gets fixed.. Other than that I would probably not, just for the fact you run into problems in the early levels.. Solid game, needs some work.
plc공부용으로 좋아요.
I had a bit of fun playing this PLC automation game with simple mechanics and UI. There is a learn-the-basics tutorial to get you started, and each level has an introduction that gives some indication of which elements you'll need. Some of the levels aren't very clear on what the completion goal is, so you'll have to experiment a bit to see what works. I was able to complete a few levels with partially working implementations when they satisfied the criteria on first iteration, but clearly failed on additional iterations. It could use a bit more polish, and some more levels to keep you coming back, but fans of visual programming language games will probably enjoy it at the regular price.
Im using this to teach some basic PLC logic to a friend of time. We are going through each scenario and I am explaining different concepts and building on what the simulator teaches. This simulator is great at teaching some basics and getting users familiar with ladder logic, but there are certain things that are left out which I feel requires someone with experience to fill in so they do not develop bad habits. I really recommend this to anyone wanting to become more familiar with ladder logic.
At the time of this review the game is unfinished and is still buggy. The concept is good, just needs more work.
