About
Auragami is a VR rhythm-like game, blending cosmic visuals with healing frequencies to create a meditative, motion-driven experience. It delivers atmospheric sensations, engaging you so that you may Unfold and Flow.
The narrative follows a lost spirit hoping to return home, and can only achieve this by finding balance between their two halves, body and mind, represented in our game as a Bird and a Serpent.
Auragami’s core gameplay loop follows the same cycle: FLOW< GAIN< EVOLVE. Each stage of this cycle indicates a player’s growth and a transition to a new challenge.
The variety of target types encourages motions and sequences that put you in harmony with the music.
Difficulty escalates at a careful pace, gating progress at each stage's end. Your mastery of each stage will be rewarded with either a building challenge or the level's completion.

Well, there's no way I can give my hometown community college a negative review. It's free after all. However, let me give these student devs some honest feedback. Optimization is not good. I experienced several micro-stutters during gameplay and that's on a RTX 5090 with a NVMe M.2 SSD drive. Also, it's just kind of odd that you're holding these avatars on your hands, but they're quite far away from where you're holding them. I know they tried to balance gameplay around this. It's just harder to control movement when they're further away from you and you have to judge distance and speed. Unfortunately, this leads to loss of immersion. It's much better to actually hold them in your hands / motion controller up close. You could then balance gameplay around that and make the person have to move quicker. Also, the Steam page should say more about the community college. Rate ?/10.
I don't think the game really deserves the thumbs up, but it also doesn't deserve a thumbs down. The atmosphere is really nice, along with the music being perfectly on theme. However, the controls are a bit janky, along with a thousand glitches which make the game almost unbeatable. The movement sensitivity slider won't lock my selection, so I'm stuck at the lowest sensitivity, furthering the frustration. Whenever tunnels appear my game lags out so incredibly bad it's impossible to stay in them. I also sometimes have to contort into weird poses to get the creatures to move enough, which may just be a result of the lo sensitivity. I am playing on a quest two, so that might affect it. Either way, good concept, needs optimization/bug fixes to be really enjoyable.
