You have been warned! As for now, it has plenty of choices to choose from, but it seems the routes and consequences those options may bring into the world and the characters' destinations are limited. The story is well written and engaging, with the option to investigate further into more pieces of lore if the player really wants to know more about the things going on within the lands of Aunewyth. The protagonist's story starts when the feeling of something evil is lurking in the landscapes of the world portrayed. A few bad omens signal the worst fears of men. So we as players can decide if we want to investigate further into the matter, try to help others or if, on the other hand, we are going to keep moving forward with merely the intention of surviving as an individual. As my first time, diving into a complete game based solely on a text-based narrative, it was a good but really brief experience. A thing I would love to bring up though, is the amazing music befitting the atmosphere created for the reader, giving Celtic vibes. I fell in love with the menu theme. I forgot to mention there's no save/ load screen, so if you want to adventure in all the opportunities presented to your character, you will have to start anew! P.S: Personally, I was hoping to end up being transformed into a toad, but it seems camaraderie between witches is stronger than lacking manners! Trust Witchy wishes to thank Captain Cool for the opportunity given to the group and the review copy received.
Early access text-based adventure game. Incredibly short right now, I finished an entire run in 4 minutes. Also, not sure what this is built on but it drove my CPU usage through the roof. Needs a lot of work and more content, but has potential and charm.
One of those simple tell your own story games we used to get in books. but with music, fancy fonts and your same imagination. Did I mention music? So grab your pencil paper and map out every story branch. Don't worry you can die as many times as you like so long as it's a different way each time.
Not much content is currently available now. Has potential to be good.
Link to the English version of this review! You know how sometimes you read a science fiction book and it seems like the author put more thought into creating weird and unusual names for places and things than into writing an actual plot? That's the feeling I got with this game. In my play through, which lasted only a few minutes, I got no sense of plot or story whatsoever. Instead I kept deciding over and over again whether to go to the mountains, or go to the forest, or go to some town that has a name, but no description or clear purpose. When I finally encountered a person with dialogue, who gave me something resembling a quest (to find his horse), the game abruptly ended. I had read the other reviews of this game and intentionally waited until there were a few updates, but even after the updates there is almost no substance to this game. I love text based adventures and am always looking for good games in this genre, but good ones are hard to find and Aunewyth is, unfortunately, not one of them, I cannot recommend spending any money on this game but I do hope the developers keep trying and one day produce a quality text-based adventure.
an instant classic, the music alone is worth the price of admission, definitely worth and a must have for text based choose your adventure enthusiasts.
