ATOM GRRRL!!

Jessica returns to the US after studying abroad for a while, and it's up to her to clean up her gang and deal with her troublesome cousin. The story really isn't very interesting, and I ended up skipping much of it. Basically you have a couple of edgy anime girls who are suppose to be these bad-ass gangsters, and everything is SO edgy just for the sake of being edgy, and then the translators who probably thought that the game needed just a [i]little[/i] bit more edge decided to use all the edgiest words they could think of. At first I was pleasently surprised to find out that the game is fully voiced, however I soon learned that most of the voices are not very well done. I especially found the main character Jessica's voice really annoying. There are only a few illustrations in the game, and even when playing the uncensored version which adds a couple of scenes the gallery only consists of 12 images, most of which can be seen in the intro/trailer. Honestly, if you've watched the trailer, there is barely any point in actually playing the game. I wasn't expecting this game to be great, but it's not even decent. It's just bad. At least it's only a couple of hours long.

First of all this VN is nothing for the weak willed, strong language non stop. Also only read Atom Grrrl!! if you are prepared to read the entire thing (2.5-3.5h). I read this on in 2 siting and was extremly unsatisfied, but im gratefull i gave it another shot, i read the entire rest which tock me another 2.5h. This VN has a similar Arc set up as the LEGO Movie. Somewhat unsatisfying through out the movie, but the final makes the entire thing pretty great.

"Pulp Fiction with lesbians" is an apt description, at least regarding the over-the-top stylized violence and racial slurs, not so much the masterful nonlinear storytelling. It's ridiculous and fun, and the central romance is actually really sweet, but in the end it never really comes together into something cohesive. Mostly I'd recommend it on a good sale if you're interested in a VN with an American setting from a Japanese perspective, since that's much less common than the other way around. Set in Las Vegas, this kinetic novel deals with the underside of paradise. Some shady individuals, others down-on-their-luck. In the center are two girls who are wide-eyed… at first. Through their experiences, will they bond (or more) or will they fall through the dark places in this city of lights?

I bought this ages ago, but only with Covid happening did I finally play it. I was not sure what to expect, so discovering it was pretty much Taratinoesque and reminiscent of Pulp Fiction except with cast of lesbians. It was strangely compelling despite slurs and racial epithets. It really is a dark comedy of errors and the fact the story takes places mostly in two days just adds to it. The cast are even fun and though definitely not the greatest people - none of them are good people, some are just better than others, it still kept me engrossed. Would I recommend it? Yeah definitely worth one play through.

Alors... Je sais plus si j'ai récupéré ce... truc au fond d'un bundle ou lors d'une solde extrême, quoi qu'il en soit je suis heureux de pas avoir payé bien cher pour l'obtenir. Et encore, "pas grand chose" c'est encore trop cher. Histoire pathétique, décousue, tentative navrante de mettre pulp fiction au pays des yuri bisounours. Ca jure parce qu'il faut jurer pour faire style mais au final ça fait tellement décalé, tellement hors contexte, qu'on arrive pas une seconde à s'immerger dans une histoire dont le scenario tiens de toutes façons sur le fil d'une feuille de papier à cigarette. Heureusement on a fini l'histoire en quelques bâillements. On oublie et on passe à la suite.
