This game was very good. I miss it even after many years. RIP
i miss this game nothing like it since
I wish it still existed
So played this quite a bit when it was still accessible, but since the game was shutdown due to it not being as much of a money maker anymore... I would have given it a somewhat positive review given its value. However. The potential of the game was massive, yes, but it was effectively milked dry before being taken out back like Old Yeller. In its place they made Atlas Rogue and effectively gave them the same treatment of decent production before simply being killed off and unplayable the moment they got the money they wanted out of it. The two could have been part of the same system with different modes, but they were sold separately and then killswitched when they hit their marks for sales. Amazing characters, pretty decent balance... just required decent coordination with team and you have the closest thing to a perfect Turn-based Tactics PvP game. Monetization was primarily cosmetics and all characters were capable of being earned through gameplay, was best played with friends where comms were reliable but even with randoms it was somewhat doable. So why was it killswitched? It wasn't earning more than they wanted it to earn, and they couldn't effectively making it pay-to-win without locking characters behind massive paywalls which would have lost their playerbase before they could earn anything for it. So my guess is they kept the servers up until the money earned was less than the upkeep for the game. If the game ever came back, it would need to be under different management since it's pretty clear the company Trion Worlds isn't really looking for game longevity. The only reason I can think why they have the game still visible is because it's considered 'Positive' and would make their other games look good even with this one shut down. Please do check other reviews that go into more detail of the extensive lengths of how bad Trion Worlds, since just copy-pasting those kinds of posts sometimes devalues them and the people who actually took the time to research them deserve the credit of going through the waves to make it comprehensive and understandable. After the disappointment of Atlas Rogues, took that as my reason to not really trust the company with any purchases since they were more than willing to drop a game that could be kept up in single player. Let this be another reason to 'Stop Killing Games'.
I miss this game there is nothing like it. It came up on a memory from years ago. This and blizzards masterpieces like WC3:FT, Starcraft, Diablo II were the only games to grace any of my very inactive socials...RIP
Love this game, hope someone can bring it back!!
I miss this game like no other. I wish one day someone studio takes an interest and tries bringing it back (without repeating the mistakes)
