Look, I'm gonna be straight with you stock Assetto Corsa is kinda meh in my opinion. The original physics feel stiff, the grip is weird, and the base cars don't really come alive. But once you start installing proper mods from the big boys like RSS, VRC, and other top modders, everything changes completely. The tire feel, suspension, aero, and overall handling jump to another level. It actually feels like a proper sim. I almost never launch the game straight from the default launcher anymore. I always go through Content Manager. It's basically essential at this point makes handling mods, setups, and everything else so much smoother and less headache-inducing. Even though I'm pretty comfortable with modding and tweaking stuff, I'm still grinding the fundamentals. Learning good racing lines, nailing braking points, and improving my time attacks is where I'm at right now. Doing all that on a cheap gamepad is honestly still fun, though my hands get tired after long sessions. Every time I finally click with a track or drop a few tenths off my lap time, it feels so rewarding. The community is what keeps it alive too forums and Reddit are full of people sharing setups, telemetry tips, and replay analysis. Plenty of veterans with thousands of hours are still out there chasing perfection. At the end of the day, Assetto Corsa is a straight-up fckn masterpiece if you're willing to dive into the mod scene. The base game is average, but with community content it becomes one of the deepest and longest-lasting sim racers out there. I gave a solid 8/10. I knock off 2 point because without mods it's pretty bland and the original visuals are showing their age. But for anyone who loves customizing their experience and actually learning to drive better, this one is hard to beat.
