Very minor spoilers so anybody who wants to play 100% blind shouldn't read. If you're on the fence, I'd strongly recommend reading my spoiler!
There is a very late and hidden (Barely) game section where the game warns you of a totally optional horror scene and I immediately had to exit the game. I will be waiting until tomorrow morning to play as I'm a grown ass man who's terrified of a game that looks like they asked chatgpt to make a pheonix wright clone but make sure it's as awful as possible... The charm comes from how unserious the game takes itself and it's the reason why a serious moment catches you so offguard. The jokes are unfunny, there's not a single character that doesn't have a random "Twist" to their backstory to add artificial amounts of depth to them, the numerous spelling errors make the "Are you smarter than a 6th grader" quiz show seem less like a fever dream and the amount of "Monke" jokes in this game make me want to change my profile picture. You will get annoyed, you'll feel stupid, maybe even feel like a degenerate for playing this game, but it will never bore you. I would laugh at the really absurd moment and Audibly gasp at a few twists that I didn't actually guess but most importantly... This game has me terrified due to a beacause of a slight tone shift at the end of the main game. It's gripped me by the balls and I can't tell anybody that THIS is the game that kept me up at night. There's barely any horror elements in the actual game, I've just been caught so offguard with how seriously the game took itself and the confidence it has that I'll be terrified that I felt pure terror reading that. Who knows, maybe it's a joke and there's no horror section, just the dev trying to mess with me again. As an example: imagine you're playing club penguin in 2012 again and you find a bug that leads you to a zone where the background is a picture of someone drinking coffee but they're clearly unaware of their picture being taken... Not the scariest thing ever but wtf is it doing in club penguin?!?!?!??!?! The game forces you to not take it seriously thus forcing a false sense of security only to rugpull you into feeling everything that the Developer wants you to feel as if you just invested in hawk Tuah coin and you're still sure you'll make money off it. To conlude... please stop reading my review, I'm only writing this so I forget about how scared I am of a totally optional and skippable scene at the end of a game about some of the most degenerate internet lore and the developers vrchat friend group. Just play the game and remember that Maxwell is hands down the best character. Slight edit to my original review, I had included a tip for the Developer Xenom but might've accidentally included some info that could spoil a decent chunk of the game so i've removed it, k thx bye
A very fun game, funny and I love the use of music and assets! It's impressive that this was all free, I had a really fun time playing it!
I came to this game from the precuel, YAD, having 42.6 hours on it, and thinking that was one of the best games i ever played and wishing for it's continuation... Now I have 27.7 hours in Assetflip attorney, I've reached the true ending, and probably this is going to be a very personal opinion, but I think this is the best game I ever played in my life, and I am sure this is the best video game series I am going to play in my life, I'm yerning for the continuation of both Asstflip attorney and YAD. Thanx for all the time and work you dedicated to this masterpiece, it could start as a joke, but the a story this well written must taken so much work and dedication, Thanx <3
