About
Ascent DX is a tiny metroidvania brought to life in glorious 64 x 64 pixel art and soothing chiptune music. Crashed on an unknown planet you have to explore lush jungles, lifeless deserts, and luminescent caves in search of anything that can help you understand what has happened to the planet and how to get off it.
While the game is a bigger version of the original Ascent, with almost twice as many locations to explore, it is still quite a short game. With the same celebrated gameplay and atmosphere, the DX versions also brings more items to find, more platforming puzzles, and more lore to uncover.
A world brought to life by tiny but expressive pixel art
Explore the planet's many biomes in your own pace and direction
Find new powers and abilities that help you on your way
Uncover the fate of the planet as well as your own
Different endings based on how much was discovered

Mini-mini Metroidvania, mais Maxi-efficace. Merci !
Fun mini metroidvania, the moveset is simple but upgrades are paced nicely and there's a nice mysterious vibe. Plus it's free, what more could you want?
Every Metroidvania's fan wet dream. Proof that PICO-8 is a freaking powerhouse in the hands of skilled developers

The upgrades feel SO responsive, you'll forget it's a PICO-8.
A fun, bite-sized, combatless metroidvania. The main focus is on the exploration and platforming, and while there are some tricky sections, there was nothing that was rage-inducing. It plays pretty simply, and the few abilites that you get along the way are all implemented well. The one thing that I really liked was the presentation. It looks like a really, really good SNES game, and as someone who enjoys retro gaming, it just tickled my fancy in the right way. If this were a longer game, this could absolutely have been a SNES classic had it been released back then. If you like platforming, or metroidvanias, or both, give this one a shot. A playthrough only takes 30-60 minutes. I'm pleasantly surprised at how good it was.
Muito bom!
Short but fun little platformer!
Decent pixel-Metroidvania game with 2 really weird endings. If you got a hour to spare for, then try out this game: it's absolutely free and needs only 13 mb disc space!
Super great minilvania, excellent music!
麻雀虽小五脏俱全 Only I wish the key bindings could be customized.
