I will get the good out of the way : the concept of having many decks available all designed by different artists is pretty cool, and some of the art is really beautiful. It's also an ok solitaire game. But unfortunately, dark patterns are dark patterns, regardless of the intent behind them. The game is free to play to lure you in but has micro transactions, has monthly game passes to make sure to give you FOMO, not spending money is possible but incredibly slower than spending money, and you are reminded to spend money at every possible moment (when you win a game you can open a booster of two card, but what if you paid so you can open a booster of four cards!! Every. Single. Time.). All of this, for a solitaire game that starts lagging the more you play, and has a default Unity UI vibe wherever the design is not made by independent artists (so everything except the cards and background mats). All in all, you can absolutely find better solitaire games, that are either free or have the decency of trusting your decision to spend money on them without having to manipulate you into it.
Pros: - The idea of collecting art for card faces and backs - A lot of great art and artists featured Cons: Everything else - This is clearly a bad mobile port the flick/swipe actions are awful using a mouse or even trackpad - Laggy - Fullscreen behaves very weirdly (the act of running the app feels very bad overall) - Predatory monetization For all the decks, art, and pricing you'd think there would be more solitaire variants and/or some kind of campaign mode like Regency Solitaire. I'd be willing to pay for more decks, maybe on like a seasonal basis, but the current pricing and pace of unlocks is indefensible.

I don't really like the layout and it's not customizable. In most of an hour, I earned like 40ish coins from playing. Unlocking a single deck design is over 3000 coins. I forget exactly how much because it's a weird number like 3975 or something. Or you can unlock them 1 card from 1 deck per game played (you will never unlock a full deck that way so this is a useless feature) Or you can buy them with real money. If I liked the game maybe I'd buy a deck, but I don't really like it anyway. The background is always shaking just subtly enough that at first I didn't know if it was actually constantly moving or if I'm just that tired rn.
I like supporting independent artists. The art is not the issue with this game, it's beatiful and clearly the artists worked hard. The gameplay isn't an issue with this game. It's solitaire. Really hard to mess up. Why I am giving this a thumbs down is how I found this game combined with the monetization. I found this through the Gayming LGBTQ+ Direct from Summer Games Fest. I am all about supporting queer indie artists as a queer indie artist myself. But this game is so predatorily monetized it's insane. It's very obvious that progression is handicapped in favor of people paying for microtransactions and subscriptions. It's so scummy to target the LGBTQ+ community who wants to support fellow queer creators with microtransations and F2P BS. Either make it less tedious for free players or just charge me 20 bucks for the whole game and lock decks behind level progression.
Early access but still kind of a mess, especially with a subscription. I'd rather just pay for a game once and earn the card backs as I go. Also a daily challenge would be real cool, but for now...not worth it
overall alright for free.
This is a dummy "game" used mainly for DATA HARVESTING. Do not launch it!

Art of Solitaire takes one of the most recognizable card games ever created and reshapes it into an experience that values both relaxing gameplay and artistic expression. Developed and published by Flick, the game moves beyond being another digital solitaire adaptation by placing collectible artwork at the center of its progression. While the familiar mechanics remain intact, every completed game contributes toward unlocking beautifully illustrated decks created by a wide range of independent artists. This creative approach gives players a reason to return beyond simply chasing victories, transforming each session into an opportunity to expand a growing digital art collection. The game offers several well-known solitaire variants, including Patience, Spider, and Pyramid, allowing players to switch between different styles depending on their preferences. Each mode retains the thoughtful planning and strategic decision-making that have made solitaire a timeless pastime while benefiting from polished controls and a modern interface. A notable addition is the flick-based card movement system, which makes handling cards feel quicker and more satisfying than conventional drag-and-drop controls. Combined with smooth animations and responsive feedback, every move feels effortless, making even lengthy play sessions comfortable and enjoyable. One of the game's strongest qualities is the way it celebrates the work of independent illustrators. Instead of offering cosmetic changes with little personality, every card deck showcases a distinct artistic theme that reflects the creator's individual style. Players gradually unlock collections featuring whimsical creatures, fantasy-inspired illustrations, playful designs, and many other imaginative concepts. With dozens of artists already contributing and more expected during the Early Access period, the collection system provides lasting motivation while introducing players to artwork they might never have encountered otherwise. The gallery feature further enhances this concept by allowing completed collections to be appreciated outside of normal gameplay. Presentation plays a major role in making Art of Solitaire stand out. The clean interface avoids unnecessary distractions while allowing the vibrant card illustrations to remain the visual highlight. Pleasant animations, subtle sound effects, and a calm overall atmosphere reinforce the game's relaxing identity. Everything from dealing cards to completing a successful game feels polished, creating an environment where players can unwind without feeling rushed or pressured. The visual quality also makes excellent use of desktop displays, giving the artwork room to shine and reinforcing the game's identity as both a card game and an interactive art showcase. As an Early Access release, Art of Solitaire already establishes a strong foundation while leaving space for future improvements. The developers have outlined plans to introduce additional artists, new collectible decks, expanded features, and continued community-driven updates throughout development. Its free-to-play model makes the experience accessible to virtually anyone, while optional premium content supports continued expansion without preventing players from enjoying the core gameplay. Although dedicated collectors may find progression slower without optional purchases, the primary solitaire experience remains satisfying and complete on its own. Art of Solitaire succeeds because it understands that classic games can evolve without abandoning what made them enjoyable in the first place. By combining timeless solitaire mechanics with meaningful progression, collectible artwork, and an inviting atmosphere, Flick has created a title that feels fresh while respecting the traditions of the genre. Players seeking a relaxing card game will appreciate its polished gameplay, while art enthusiasts will find genuine value in its growing library of original illustrations. It is an impressive Early Access project with a clear vision and plenty of room to become even better as additional content arrives. Rating: 7/10
No options for high fps and the controls work a lot better for touch than mouse The port could be a lot better
