The game is a fantastic bullet hell experience that feels heavily inspired by Warhammer 40,000, and I love it for that. The atmosphere, relentless combat, and over-the-top action all capture that same satisfying feeling of mowing through impossible odds even at the lowest level of difficulty. My biggest criticism is the progression and difficulty design. When you first start playing, there's only one difficulty level available, and it honestly doesn't matter what perks or weapons you choose. As long as you're reasonably familiar with bullet hell games, you'll probably make it to the end without much trouble. Because of that, there's very little incentive to actually learn the game's systems or experiment with different builds early on. That's unusual for a roguelike or roguelite, where the opening hours typically encourage players to understand how different mechanics interact. So, it might make a lot of players uncomfortable with the sharp increase in difficulty at the next level. That said, I absolutely love the weapon evolution and customization system. Being able to shape your arsenal gives each run its own personality and makes overcoming each level feel rewarding in a way that goes beyond simply surviving. Overall, I'd say this is a very solid bullet hell game, especially considering it's still in Early Access. I'm excited to see how the developer(s) continue to refine it and whether they can fully realize the vision they have for the game. If they do, I think it has the potential to become something players will genuinely love. Edit: Also, despite what Steam says it does support PS controllers (I use a PS5 controller), you just have to set it up in the game settings first. Some of the prompts are wrong, but it still works great.

It's good to slay the filthy demons. My only issue so far with the game is those annoying ass toadstool things that are poisonous. I understand if they're on the maps but I just think theres too many maybe tone down the spawn rate of those a bit. Some of the descriptions on how to do things are a little confusing but that could just be a personal skill issue lol. The flak cannon or the mortar weapon kind of looks off and theres no crosshair to indicate where those are going. I think maybe a grenade launcher would have been better imo.I do wish there were a few more weapons but I'm sure those will come with more updates but besides that, it's an awesome game, I love it! It's super fun, the controls are pretty responsive and it's cool to actually see how your Crusader actually becomes stronger with each and every level. I really don't have much to say other than that. Would recommend!
Great rogue-like bullet-storm game, good story WONDERFUL soundtrack, very good design and challenging balance. Would highly recommend!

I've always been a sucker for Heaven and Hell theme games, devil may cry, Dante's inferno, the list goes on. Arms of god is yet another in that line of my loves, This bullet heaven truly does it right and is only recently released to early access, so far in my play time i have yet to experience a single crash, drop in frames, or any other form of optimization issue. Beyond that lets get to the game play, You play a templar, in service to your usual cult or what have you, Traveling through the dilapidated streets of an apocalyptic world in search for a way to close the gates of hell. There's very minor story, no voice acting or anything worry about, its just background lore. You can choose between a myriad of unlockable templars with different passive, abilities and strengths and weaknesses, like higher holy damage or can only use melee weapons but has higher melee damage. You start with 1 weapon, and choose your level and difficulty, as you kill and collect souls you use them in the shop to power up your build with up to 5 weapons and combine various upgrades on the weapons alongside blessings that increase the overall power of your character. Besides your character you have access to the Crux, an immovable (unless you unlock a perk that lets you pick it up during your run) cross that has a radius around it, the crux absorbs any souls you don't pick up, increasing its power throughout the run, when your character levels up, after the run you choose a new ability for your crux, these are VITAL to your survival, you need to balance your strength between your templar and your crux, the crux is insanely powerful, as it has incredibly strong offensive abilities, healing abilities, increases the stats of your templar while you stand near it, and also can literally negate every single projectile sent toward it with the right perk, making it so you only have to worry about melee enemies. This delicate balance between choosing how many souls to sacrifice to your crux and how many to use your yourself leads you to think about how many souls you ACTUALLY need per round so your crux can increase in power, not to mention finally that there are sub objectives in each level that you need to complete to gather resources. Now the resources are for use after you finish the run, this is a bullet heaven after all so once we've gone back to town, its time for upgrades, there are a MASSIVE amount of upgrades to buy, new weapons, new blessings, overall stat and gameplay upgrades, and you can even lock certain items from ever appearing in the shop again, to top it off all of these choices are reversible with a 90% cost refund. Finally again this game is in early access and the dev is already planning multiple future updates including every ones favorite, the endless mode, For the price of the game i can see myself getting quite a bit of time out of Arms of God, so i seriously recommend picking it up! Enjoy everyone! 8/10
Arms of God is an Arena Horde Survival game. When you got used to all of the options you have as a player it feels like a Brotato with just enough christianity that you notice it. But mostly you are the cool-demon-slayer I didn't knew I waited for it. I would recommend it, even it is not finished to the time of this review. I'm positive that this game will have two or three surprises for us players and I'm very sure that those developers can come up with good ways to make every run feels like an other experience, but Arms of God will need a little work here. If you are into those Horde Survivals where no run is the same, I would recommend to wait a few updates.
havent sunk much time into it due to other games competing for my attention, but the little bit i've played shows a lot of promise. seems fun
