It really pains me to leave a negative review on an indie game, but given that it has similar price to a lot of really solid otome visual novels, I thought someone may appreciate a heads-up.
Non-spoilery TL;DR version:
The story is... not good. It starts okay, and was enjoyable enough for the first hour or so, but then it started to feel like some very juvenile fanfiction really fast. Characters and events didn't make any sense, things were just happening for no reason, and MC was acting like three totally different people, with her thoughts and actions doing a complete 180 from how she was 10 minutes ago. I'm not sure how far along I was in the story, but I don't see any way it could possibly end up being something even remotely reasonable narrative-wise.
And now cue spoilery rant:
[spoiler]I went for Kasanov's route.
The story starts with MC and her squad of rangers on a scouting mission. We eventually get a bit of exposition and it seems there's some sort of military tension between MC's kingdom and elven kingdom, so they are ordered to capture an elf for interrogation. They catch Kasanov, who is indeed an elf, bring him in, and soon after we are told that unless he shares any valuable information he will be executed in 5 days.
MC is upset about killing defenceless prisoner like that (I mean, fair) and we get a bit weird countdown in the beginning of each day, that looks like you need to do something in order to save him, but the only thing the game lets you do is hanging out with your friends, and by the looks of it she just releases him regardless.
When Kasanov is released he suggests MC comes home with him to learn about what's actually going on. She has some doubts about abandoning her army duties and betraying her realm and her friends for about thirty seconds and agrees, after that suddenly all her friends - one of whom is a prince - appear and tag along, because apparently out of nowhere everyone is now dubious about the local politics to the point of deflection.
Starting from here MC more or less stops caring or paying any attention to her friends in favour of thirsting over Kasanov. I don't think she ever had a conversation not revolving around him from this point onwards.
They arrive to his kingdom, get captured by guards - including the prince, but no one seems to be even remotely interested. Everyone tries to figure out how to escape, apart from the MC who is like "fear not and sit tight my dudes, Kasanov, whom I known for a whole week and learned nothing about, promised to keep me safe, so there's literally zero reason to worry". Kasanov eventually comes to release them and reveals that he is a leader of the local group of rebels and plans a coup to overthrow current evil government and establish democracy. They all agree to help him, because I guess there's no way a cute elven boy that MC likes could not be fighting for the right cause, and him asking nicely is good enough reason to start a revolution and cause bloodshed without any context or knowledge of the current situation. Suddenly the king of MC's kingdom is also evil, so they agreed to go back and overthrow him as well after they are done here. Like there was zero build-up for that. They didn't seem especially happy with the king, but that's about it. In case you forgot, the prince is still there, and is also on board with some sudden light-hearted patricide.
MC is thirsting over Kasanov even more because she was pleased to learn that he's important and respected, and not just some rando.
They do the coup thing the very next day, and in the meantime MC promptly morphs into the Kasanov's lap dog with no agency of her own, and her contribution to the plot is mostly limited to fawning over him, telling people (including her friends) off for not being respectful and obedient enough, and complacently supporting Kasanov while he is killing people for being rude to him. She doesn't really seem to care about anything unless it prevents her from engaging in PDA with Kasanov at this point.
There was a moment where she hears some folks from the old government screaming and Kasanov laughing in the dungeons, and she's like "better go wait somewhere else, those cries of people being tortured are kinda killing the mood ", and later mentions that all of them supposedly were killed. Like, girl. You deflected your country's army because they wanted to execute an enemy's scout. Those pretty elven boys spin your moral compass like one hell of a magnet.
The whole coup thing is over in about 5 minutes, Kasanov seems more concerned about groping MC than any political stuff, MC seems pretty chuffed about the current state of affairs, and then there's a time skip for several months.
Nothing seems to change much after time skip apart from Kasanov by the looks of it being a sole ruler and decision maker in this fine newfound democracy, while still being preoccupied with groping MC. MC apparently also doesn't do much, follows Kasanov around, and relishes her status of military wife.
Then there was some kind of festival where Kasanov was very reluctant to peel himself off of MC to attend to his duties, and after a bit MC freaked out because he dared to speak to other people without continuously establishing that she is the most important person here. So she stormed off crying and contemplating their whole relationship because she had to sit and wait like everyone else while he was talking politics with someone.
At this point I gave up, and I have no idea what this story is even about.
It sounds like I'm just being mean and snarky about it, but, uhh, that is honestly close enough to how narrative goes, and all the parts of MC acting obnoxious are pretty much spelled out like this in her inner monologue.[/spoiler]
