Arcfall

"Arcfall" is a fascinating tale of apparently shady developers and a serious case of Early Access abuse. This was an attempt made last decade to create a World of Warcraft ripoff, you know, just as WoW had started to decline in popularity, so ripping off something like that is a genius idea... except of course it's much too much work and costs too much money, so they didn't bother. But they did apparently do an epic job of breaking into the office at 9am and turning the lights on to make it look like someone was actually working on the game, when nobody was. I mean, you have to earn all those Early Access bucks from Steam somehow, right? And actually making and finishing a game is out of the question. At face value this looks really promising. The graphics look okay (because they ripped off so much from WoW's aesthetic), but the depth of content and the gameplay weren't there... and unpolished, geez. A complete train wreck. Anyway, the servers are pulled now, and this is an utterly dead and unplayable game polluting the store. The developers abandoned this 1 year and 4 months ago. It will never be completed. This unfinished game is just polluting Steam and making it harder for gamers to find genuinely, completely made games. The graphics in this game are really quite good, which at least makes the game look more appealing. And while it's vital for any game to have impressive visuals (gaming is a visual medium, after all), there's more to a game than just the graphics. To be worth a gamers time, the game must match top tier visuals with top tier gameplay, and that's not happening here. You're forced to sign a highly questionable yet legally unenforceable End User License Agreement... for such a relatively low effort, low quality product, this comes across more as a delusion of grandeur than anything else. This agreement includes questionable requirements that may attempt to revoke consumer law protections that gamers expect to have, which is also highly problematic. Developers must learn they are here to serve gamers, not control them. I had my cat walk over the keyboard while the EULA was displaying, which fixed that problem for me. It's free... now, but it wasn't before. The developer was charging $20 USD for this. Price barriers, especially on unfinished, low quality products, can be a direct cause of failure. This is a slap in the face to anyone naive enough to back this project thinking the developer would make good on their promises. Instead, the developers kept the money from all the backers they scammed. Not a single cent has been refunded. As others have said, this was pretty much a scam. Gamers, always, always be careful about Early Access games. You take on a big risk when you pay someone not to finish a game.

Upon further review the servers for the game are down, and have been for what seems like several months. This is due to a massive update to the game that is being worked on. I could find no estimated release date for the update as well. I'll edit this review again after I have played the new update whenever it comes out.

Game is offline.

this game is a scammo there is no other way to say it. the game is vary buggy and has many issues to what it wants to be. the game has stolen assets and the game runs like i'm playing on a potato but my PC is pretty up to date. do not let the time play fool you as i had roughly played 3 hours on the game but idky it saying 3mins and i guess it just that much trash that steam just can't get a right play time cause the game having some issues idk. this game is only made for it's cash shop and nothing else. the game also using a mix match of assets of 4+ deffrent styles witch leads back to the whole stolen asset thing. all in all this "game" is just junk and it doesn't take much time to figure out that this is a scammo made only to milk money from people that don't know better. for anyone reading this review before you play the "game" do not by anything from the item store and try out the game if you like but you will regret your perchuse in a hour or so.

not worth your time horrible combat system dead game

I log on from time to time just to say hello to the sheep that bounce around... would've been a decent sandbox'ish style mmo.... sad , sad timeZ
