The most immersive game i have played in a while. A really unique and interesting concept and a good story. my only problem is that its too short.
Você já jogou audio games? Se sim, vai gostar. Se não, tente. Um audio game de tiro, onde seu guia é sua audição e aproveite a imaginação de onde você está e aja nessa perspectiva.
A "must have" experience for every gamer, however the criticism is on point - the game lacks clarity of what the player should do at some points and the accents can make it harder, especially for not native speakers. It would be much better if there would be some form of narration, describing the scene and characters (although the voice acting did well here, in my opinion). There also could be more done in terms of interactivity. I really hope there are going to be more games of this genre and since it's the only one I know I definitely recommend it!
Keep your ears open and focus Apotherorasis is an fps sci-fi game you play blinded, which is for sure quite new for player's with regular eyesight - an experience I'd highly recommend for people who are into trying new ways of gaming and possibly like stepping into someone else's shoes for a change. I'd say this game is also good for other game devs to understand gaming from usability perspective which gets overlooked quite often. As far as my own experience with this game goes: This is the first game I've played like this and I enjoyed the experience well-enough. The game is very immersive and you'll have an interesting time seeing how your senses adapt to being stripped of visual cues, tough at first for sure - but you'll manage. For people who have a vivid imagination and a good enough spatial awareness, this game is going to be easier than for people who have difficulty painting a mental map in their mind of the situation and space. So if you're a very visually concrete person this might not be for you. Overall it is a very good framework for the future. As far as things to improve go, the story and setting is interesting, so I wish we'd gotten to know more about it and speak more with the characters. So for people wondering whether or not to pick this up, don't expect a ton of lore, it is quite a short game after all. Our scientist fella stands out as the most professional sounding voice-actor even though he is kinda theatrical, it adds some weird charm to him. Really loved the voice ques, clicking and whistling from our partner during missions. Reeeally liked the sarcastic humor of our lil' menu robot too. I had no other issues with the game except for the final chapters and final boss as I got no idea where I was supposed to aim, not to mention my shield didn't work. The controls also need a little more fine tuning as it is quite difficult to use the mouse for abilities as you're trying to walk and pinpoint locations at the same time. P.S didn't seem to get my "Your pain is my Pain" achievement. TL;DR It's an interesting, short game if you're looking for something new and are a fan of sci-fi and robots - or if you have ever wondered what it's like to be blind
It's an interesting game, honestly. But near the ending(?) gameplay becomes really confusing. I don't know if I broke any triggers, but I got bombarded with overlaying dialogues and got lost in what's happening to the point I didn't understand how new enemies work.
Follow the sound of my shield... you missed me! I can't detect where the noise of his shield is coming from. I was fine up to this at this point but here I "lost" perception of the 3D space and that was it. Game Over. I had the same problem with an old iPhone game called, "The Nightjar". One lapse in concentration and I can't place the source of the sound any more. Wouldn't be surprised if this was a problem for a few similarly afflicted individuals. I really wanted to like this game but I guess I can't play these types of games, Also, I wish the voice actor could just tone down his exaggerated accent a bit. I literally could not understand him a lot of the time. Fortunately, he gets to repeat himself often enough.
This was a fun game. The concept of being blind, where you can't see anything yet still have to shoot stuff, was enjoyable. I recommend this game, although it is a bit short. While there isn't much variety for replay, I still think it's worth it for the experience. Plus, you get much better at following sounds and understanding what to do. I quite like what it's about. I do need to replay it to get all the achievements since I wasn't really trying to collect them initially, but I suggest you try it out. Spoilers below _______________________________________________________________________ I did have one problem with it right when the cryo was coming. I was doing well without dying but got stuck at getting in the elevator, which is fine, my bad. But once I died, I couldn't hear anything. I don't know if it was a bug or anything, but after dying a lot, I was finally able to pick the right direction and the sound came back. Quite weird, but that was probably just me but at the same time idk.
Apotheorasis is a one-of-a-kind game that defies expectations. With no graphics or UI, it challenges you to rely solely on your ears to navigate, sneak, shoot, and interact. Immerse yourself in a twisted, dark, and sometimes hilariously absurd sci-fi world brought to life through immersive 3D audio. The game strikes a balance between challenge and forgiveness, offering frequent checkpoints to keep you engaged. With its quirky humor and short but captivating storyline, Apotheorasis is a thrilling experience that will leave you wanting more.
This was such a unique and amazing experience. I was fully immersed in the entire story, and the concept itself is truly outstanding. I really hope to see more game studios experiment with ideas like this in the future. The game relies heavily on your sense of hearing, imagination, and spatial awareness. If you struggle with any of these, this probably isn’t the game for you, you’ll feel completely lost. But if, like me, you don’t have trouble with them, you should be able to follow the instructions easily and progress through the levels without much difficulty. The only real challenge was the final boss, where it wasn’t immediately clear what to do, but after a few attempts I managed to get through it. Overall, I definitely enjoyed my playthrough. However, since the experience only lasts around an hour, I wouldn’t recommend buying it at the full price of €10. Pick it up on sale instead, and you’ll have a great time.
This is an odd game. It certainly isn't like anything else I played. I appreciate its oddities as part of its story. Some parts of it are a little hard to follow, but overall, the story works and winning over time is worth the effort. It does require a good grasp of headphones, and you will do beter to follow rather than anticipate your guide.
