From inside Apartment 606, you get to carry out remote work and tasks for your corporation. While carrying out these tasks, you will be disturbed by different annoyances, such as devices turning on inside the apartment and similar triggers. All of the triggers that can happen will be given away by a sound cue, so it's essential to use your ears constantly. Turning off all of these disturbances/triggers is crucial since they allow an intruder to enter the apartment, which can be fatal. You will learn more about this through the story, which I will not spoil here. The tasks are nice, easy to get into and they drop a slight feeling of reward after completing them. The tasks are not overwhelming and they are quite easy to pick up. I wish that some of them were a bit harder to complete, most of them feel very easy. Also, the reward system where we are paid for our tasks are really nice. We get paid for our work and can spend our money on various items that will benefit us. Super cool concept and well-executed. The narration is purely text-based, primarily the characters' thoughts is being narrated. I found it hard to pick up pieces of the story in the first playthrough. We are in a stressful environment, why are we getting story delivered while we have phones ringing, radios playing, and door-knocking all at the same time? It mixes stress with stress. I felt the need to rush through any conversation in my first playthrough. What I'm searching for here is a clearer pause for story segments. After playing through Apartment 606 the first time, I was left with more questions than answers, even though the story is very short. Now, the game places a significant emphasis on sound; some of the core mechanics are purely based on audio. However, I don't feel like the game took full advantage of this capability to create an intense survival horror atmosphere. There are frequent "holes" where things feel empty when there are clear opportunities to develop some really ominous moments. For other parts, it does good. For example, the ambiance does a super good job of creating moments where I frequently confuse parts of the ambiance for actual sound cues. This results in a good effect where I second-guess and pay closer attention to the sounds. Still, I think this is one of those times when a small change can lead to a more remarkable environmental change. EDIT: After putting in more effort, and fully learning the mechanics, the game becomes a lot more interesting. The main thing I really can appreciate here, is the way that the different endings are implemented. Finding them is exciting and satisfying. I usually skip when it comes to multiple endings, but here, I can say that they are not implemented in a boring way. You will have to think and use your creativity to find them. Nice work. I could not figure out how to move the story forward. Did not know what the game meant by "find attached quarterly financial report" etc. Could not complete that phase. Still I'll thumb it up for intrigue. Gameplay Impressions: https://youtu.be/IdSHUwOJnoE
