Sweet little universal strategy game inspired by Lemmings. The action may be slow, but the challenges are tough and the yummy images will bring you back to the table over and over. You may even feel the need to bake a cake while playing.
«Ants! Mission of the salvation»
Mission of the salvation». Easy puzzle game, lemmings-style. Could use a better soundtrack. Not bug-free sadly, when using a hint when you are stuck, the solution does not match the game (e.g. the solution uses parachutes, while you do not have parachutes), also the ants are not on the right position (walking behind the level) and one solution crashed the game completely. Do not use hints and you'll be fine I guess. Hard to say recommended or not-recommended. I would say neutral, but aside from the hint bug, it's a cheap game with 30 levels and gives you an hour or two of playtime, therefore recommended.
Ants! Mission of the salvation - a casual platformer in which we will help ants find a way out, we will have the role of someone in the likeness of a creator, we will be able to give different commands to ants to help get to the exit, and we will also be able to give out ant objects. but there will be a limited amount of time and the number of our ants, so we will need to quickly figure out how to properly distribute our resources to quickly find an outlet for ants.
2/10 way too much clicking in this game
Ants!
Pros: Cheap, reminds me of lemmings. Cons: Short (not many levels), Easy (most of the levels are to easy), Hints (does not work, they show the wrong level), Game says you completed everything when you have atleast 5 levels left. Summary: If you played lemmings back when and you get it for around 50 cent go for it. You will waste about 2 hours between changing diapers and making dinner while game is still runnging.
Had to stop playing to write this. I love this game exactly what I was looking for! The music, animations and Ants are all top notch. Great game if you are into problem solving & fun.
"Ants! Mission of the salvation" is an unabashed, lazy ripoff of Lemmings (Copyright Psygnosis, 1991). Many lazy "amateur" developers don't pay attention to their obligations under copyright law, and often steal the ideas of actual, real game developers without credit, such as the "developer" here has done. At this stage no legal action has been taken by Psygnosis against the "developer" here, but it's never off the table, as previous copyright law cases have shown. Putting aside the unethical intellectual bankruptcy of stealing someone else's game concept for profit, this is also breaking that unwritten law of stealing other people's game ideas... you should at least try to do better than the game you're ripping off. "Ants! Mission of the salvation" is considerably worse than Lemmings. Just like Lemmings, ants drop down and autowalk, turning around and walking in the other direction if they hit an obstacle, falling down if they can, and your mission is to use special abilities to guide the ants to the exit. The only differences between Lemmings and this ripoff is the theme has been changed from Lemmings to Ants, and of course the levels are different and there's different abilities like climbing and so on. At the end of the day this is just Lemmings, the developer is trying to cash in on someone else's game concept with an inferior copycat, and this never results in a quality product for gamers. While there are options to change the resolution for the game, all this does is scale up the simplistic 2D art assets used to make the game, which makes little or no difference to the graphics quality. Without any other substantial graphics tweaks, it's not possible for gamers to improve the lacklustre 2D visuals. The game features simple, cartoony 2D graphics, of the type you normally expect to see in low effort mobile apps. 3D graphics programming does require a degree of skill and competence and unfortunately not all developers have the budget or talent to deliver this, despite 3D graphics cards hitting the mainstream in the 1990's. Considering this is being evaluated as a PC game, having the graphics phoned in like this isn't going to result in a high quality, visually impressive game that PC gamers are used to seeing. The developers didn't design the game for modern gaming PCs, as such the display resolution caps out at 1080p, a very low resolution that became mainstream back in 2006 and became obsolete when 4K entered the mainstream in 2014. The game simply won't look right on modern gaming displays due to this failure on the part of the developers. This looks and feels like a mobile app, but it doesn't seem to have made it to the app stores. It's unclear why this was put on Steam instead of the app stores it seems to have been designed for. Maybe it was removed, maybe it was rejected by Apple and Google (they do have more rigorous quality standards than Valve does for Steam, after all). Regardless, for all intents and purposes "Ants! Mission of the salvation" might as well be a mobile app, it has the same limitations and dumbed down qualities. It's impossible to recommend such a game to PC gamers. We don't spend all this money building gaming rigs so we can pretend they're iPhones and play games that might as well be mobile apps. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 2 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 100,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. So, should you buy this game? "Ants! Mission of the salvation" is relatively cheap at $2 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend. This is also competing with over 11,000 free games available on Steam, many of them far better than this paid product. There's also Lemmings like games available free on mobile/on the web, so why pay for one on Steam?
