Weirdly good and atmospheric for a free historical/cultural app.
Would not function for me at all. The opening scene explains to pull the trigger and point to where you want to go. Perfect, works like a charm. The it brings me to the outside of the hut....and I can't move anymore. No little beam to show me where I'm aiming at...nothing. Just me, standing in a snowstorm, staring at a hut. So...I guess I didn't like it.

Originally part of a New Zealand museum tour. Expect nothing more than a museum tour in VR and you'll find it quite entertaining. If you don't like museums, exploration or the Antarctic, obviously don't bother. I quite enjoyed it.
Well, it is free and you get to learn something. What got me was the short vid clip they showed of the men eating in the mess --- there was loads of them! There must have been a compound there and not just Edmund's hut. Interesting short blast, but very dated VR implementation.
Not as interactive as I was hoping. It's very much an education-focused VR experience and only utilizes teleport movement controls vs. free movement. I would have enjoyed it a lot more if I could wander around freely and if there was more going on in the virtual space instead of using 2D movies for content. It is well-rendered though and the pride of the Trust in their work shines through. Could be better, but I did find it a neat experience overall.
Index user This is not a game, its is an odd little (and I mean little as in VERY SHORT) documentary. It functions very poorly with modern VR equipment. You can't use the controls to turn, you can only stand in a handful of predetermined spots, and only when the railroad narrative lets you move. Forget freedom to explore anything, or anywhere. Down voted because its ancient, barely functions and has what I consider to be very lazy exploration limitations on an already super tiny map.
It is a modest educational experience that lacks visual quality and details. Textures are very basic, interior looks quite empty(although maybe it is historically accurate?) and only a mixer is animated out of all the hut's equipment. But it was still interesting to see how explorers lived in Antarctica.
