Great game! Sharpened some of my math skills which haven't been used in years. Fully recommend it! Never stop coding Penny! You're awesome!
Not exactly sure if this game is worth one dollar of fun, but if you look at play time I guess you could say this purchase was worth it. Also some of the questions are deceptive as some of them have the smallest number first, which does a lot to throw you off. Some suggestions: a streak counter, multiplication/division mode, timed mode
Is it a game? Maybe. Is it useful and fun? Sure is. I dont know any decently intelligent person who does not use addition on a daily basis. So 'Answer The Question' does a good job at training a skill, that many people still need calculators for. Add in the fact that a 7 year old has better coding standards than most 47 year old devs, and you got a pretty sleek presentation by a child. Without a doubt, Penny probably received some help to get the script running. Still impressive no less. Add into the fact that she is a young, aspiring, female, game developer and you have endless potential. It might not seem a lot to the average critic, but a lot of heart was put into this simple script for .99 cents. In a world of microtransactions and asset flips. For less than a dollar you can support the potential for this little girl to be a literal game changer. The fact that the script was hand written instead of copy and paste code, like many AAA devs do on a daily basis; is more than enough incentive. Im all for that.
A wonderful first effort in programming and hopefully we see more games to come from Penny. This game can be quite fun given that you're often adding 2 digit numbers together -- try to instinctively add without actually doing the maths in your head and see how you go!
This is a great game and it challenged my math skills a lot! I found I had to stop and really think to get some of the questions that came my way. Had to stop after 20 to give my brain a break! Very excited to see what you make in the future!
Oh does this bring back memories of my first program! Pure nostalgia. Keep learning, and I can't wait to see your "text-based adventure next. Those were my first ever video games: Pyramid 2000, Madness and the Minotaur, and Zork. Keep learning and you will be able to achieve anything! I am not going to post my score, I played for 5 minutes so I could post this review and obviously calculaters and computers haver reduce my brains compuatational power.....
Семилетняя Пенни, дочка блогера и разработчика Лэнса Макдональда, получила от отца учебник по QBASIC и старенький компьютер на Windows 98, а меньше чем через 2 недели в Steam вышла ее дебютная игра. Well done! Reminds me of the first thing I ever coded - I was older than 7 though and this game is more advanced! Keep it up!
This game triggered my addition. Love it.
Happy to support a young developer. My first programming was also in QBASIC when I was in elementary school! Also, the dev has some natural talent, because Answer the Question runs at a silky smooth 60 fps. 11/10 would answer the question again
