Animals Memory: Cats

You can make up to three mistakes each board in the really basic memory puzzle game Animals Memory: Cats. It takes barely thirty minutes to finish, has no plot, and offers nothing remarkable in the way of graphics or sound. Click on the same cat symbols until the level is completed. Later levels are just a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of 24 tiles (12 pairs). https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3388182475 You can unlock 50 achievements, but there are only 18 levels. You can repeat the first level 50 times and unlock all achievements because they're not tied to the levels itself.

Animals Memory: Cats is a match-2, memory game developed by Laush Dmitriy Sergeevich and published by Laush Studio. Since there is no story here, I'll just jump straight into the gameplay. The objective is to match identical pictures of cats, and you're given a limited amount of time to remember where all the cats are. There are a total of 18 levels, and once you start a level, you're only allowed to make 3 mistakes before you fail it. Depending on how few mistakes you make (and probably, how quickly you make all the matches), you can earn up to 3 stars. Also, lots of Steam achievements are present and they count towards a user's global total, but no Steam trading cards are present at the time of this review. Now that I've gone over the gameplay, I'll move onto my thoughts. I got this game as a part of an IndieGala bundle, and feeling in the mood to play a short, memory matching game, I decided to give this a go. With that said, I like how the difficulty increases as you progress through levels. Basically, you're given less time to remember where all the cats are while given more pairs of cats to memorize. However, I was disappointed that there are only 18 levels. Since there are 50 Steam achievements (with the final achievement being to pass a level 50 times), you might wonder how this is possible with only 18 levels. The answer is simple. If you want to earn any remaining achievements quickly, you just replay level 1 as many times as you want until you get all of the achievements. I was a bit letdown that there wasn't more of a challenge in this game, but to be fair, the store page describes the game being suitable for everyone, so even kids can play it. The developer probably had this mindset, so that's why the levels and achievements feel easy to obtain. However, if you like earning easy achievements, then this game certainly has them. With the art, I like how there are lots of cute cats in which you have to find matching pairs. Finding the sweet animals was my favorite aspect, and there are lots of cats, so it's definitely perfect for people who are fans of cats. The cats are in cute poses and the photographic art is good. In regards to the music, there's only one track, so unfortunately, no variety is present. Although that aspect doesn't bother me too much, I didn't like how there was no volume adjustment in-game. Either, you had to keep the music on or turn it off completely. I do understand that this is an older game, but still, it would have been nice for a volume adjustment slider in game to be present and not resort to adjusting my computer volume. Overall, would I recommend Animals Memory: Cats? Honestly, I have mixed feelings about it and wish that I could rate this as neutral. (Steam really needs to add a neutral rating.) Since I can't, though, I'll give the developer the benefit of the doubt and give the game a positive review. Even though I wish that there had been more game difficulty challenge, I enjoyed looking at the cats, and Steam achievements are easily obtainable. (If I have to choose between too easy to obtain or too difficult to obtain achievements, I'm most likely to learn towards the former.) With that said, I would really wait for a good sale before getting this game. Even if you're a fan of cats and memory matching games, I don't think the asking price is worth getting for the amount of gameplay. (It took me less than 30 minutes to complete the game and obtain all of the achievements.) On a good sale, though, it's worth considering.
Warning: Asset Flip!
Animals Memory: Cats is an asset flip, or what Valve calls a "Fake Game". The "developer" paid for/pirated someone else's Unity card matching tutorial game demo/asset pack, slapped on some stock images of animals that Laush stole off the internet (again without crediting the owners of those images), and submitted it to Valve as if it was their own game. Laush Dmitriy Sergeevich/Laush Studio have shown a repeat pattern of unethically dumping other people's work onto Steam as a cheap, nasty cash grab, through this account or through closely linked/alt accounts. Here's some examples so you can see for yourself:

"Unmanned helicopter" = Simple Town Pack developed by MyxerMan
"Old Factory" = Realistic FPS PreFab developed by Azuline Studios
"Tower Defense Sudden Attack" = Tower Defence Template developed by Keeree Games
Taking this shovelware seriously as if it was a genuine attempt to make a game, it doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. The game features simple 2D graphics, of the type you normally expect to see in low effort mobile apps. 3D graphics programming does require a degree of skill and competence and unfortunately not all developers have the budget or talent to deliver this, despite 3D graphics cards hitting the mainstream in the 1990's. Considering this is being evaluated as a PC game, having the graphics phoned in like this isn't going to result in a high quality, visually impressive game that PC gamers are used to seeing. This looks and feels like a mobile app, but I wasn't able to find it on the app stores. Maybe it was removed, maybe it was rejected by Apple and Google (they do have more rigorous quality standards than Valve does for Steam, after all). Regardless, for all intents and purposes "Animals Memory: Cats" might as well be a mobile app, it has the same limitations and dumbed down qualities. It's impossible to recommend such a game to PC gamers. We don't spend all this money building gaming rigs so we can pretend they're iPhones and play games that might as well be mobile apps. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 4 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 50,000 games for gamers to choose from (over 9,000 completely free titles), the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. It's also important to note the "developer" here has connections to a number of shady Russian asset flippers and review manipulators (Repa Games, Falco Software etc) who show an organised pattern to scam and defraud gamers with fake reviews and asset flipping the work of others for profit. While reviews are about the games, gamers should be informed when developers act unethically. Whether these connections are the same developer using multiple accounts, or just working closely with other unethical developers, gamers should be warned about the harm to gamers by this developer and their associates. Buying games from unethical developers puts your money at risk.
Warning: Review Manipulation!
This game features a small number of fake positive reviews from accounts known to be in the business of review manipulation/paid reviews. They're all written in either Russian or broken English, appear at almost exactly the same time, very shortly after the game launched on Steam, all have a direct Steam purchase of the game, and the accounts are used consistently to write fake reviews for asset flips and other cash grabs/scams. The "Positive" review score on this game should be disregarded due to this blatant, unethical review manipulation. This is done to deceive and scam gamers into paying for a bad product. Animals Memory: Cats has the unethical price of around $4 USD (for software the "developer" stole from others), it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, especially considering the unethical nature of the developer. Remember that if you buy a game from an unethical developer, you're putting your money at risk. Because this is the kind of game you can just play for free on mobile phones, it's impossible to recommend anyone should pay money for the same experience on Steam.
Animals Memory: Cats
Um jogo da memória simples, bom e relaxante. Não tem pq não recomendar, comprando em uma promoção boa deve valer muito a pena.
