About
Angel Engine is a horror surgery simulator that explores a missing chapter of the Angel Engine series. Nuclear fire burned the skies long ago, leaving behind a world of ash -- but the Second Tower of Babel still stands. Join a crew of scientists in their effort to save the human species from damnation. But remember: there are no heroes here.
Step into the Babel 2 Scientific Research Center as its newest employee. Your job is simple: correct deformities on test subjects and only ask acceptable questions. You're doing God's work.
From the safety of your operating room, use your mechanical arm to treat your patients while fending off demons, servicing faulty equipment, and keeping the Angel Engine operational. Every operation adds a new layer of complexity, and the clock is always ticking; don't let your patient wake up.

This is such a waste of time and money, I was truly looking forward for the lore of this game as I refuse to watch some AI generate BS on YT but this game is pure rage bait with some "lore" hidden in emails, I am not a competitive type of player and I enjoy games with deep lore and interesting stories, I am still stuck at operation 3 after hours of trying and trying and it is getting really annoying, I do not recommend it all
A fairly typical example of the burgeoning retro arg horror roguelite game, or something along those lines. If you enjoyed Buckshot Roulette or CloverPit, then Angel Engine is the game for you. A straightforward roguelite built around mini-games with a heavy dose of modern horror in the style of an internet args. It’s good fun overall, but there’s nothing particularly innovative about the concept or gameplay.
First you learn how to play, then you learn how to play faster. The multitasking minigames aren't hard on their own, but you'll start juggling things pretty fast. Also, I think a lot of negative reviewers forget that Holy Water is an item, which, if used correctly, can completely avoid anything breaking. I personally enjoyed it.
TL;DR - At the price point I think this is a solid intense but short horror game that does get a bit too difficult in the later levels. The actual game is simply performing small simple mini games with increasingly difficult time management as more of your systems fail, requiring you to fix them. By the final levels there's very little room for error in the mini games as the systems are almost constantly failing (which is where some of the negative reviews come from). There's also not a lot of explanation on some of the mechanics, you either figure them out or you deal with the game being even harder. The atmosphere is great, framing it as a job simulator where the horror is in the nature of the work, (though there are jumpscares for the deaths). As for the discourse surrounding Angel Engine as a series due its use of Generative AI, I can't say, the game says no Gen AI was used so make of that what you will.
Controls are solid, feels like a polished game, I really enjoy the challenge and stress this game brings. I think it executes what it is trying to do in a satisfying way,
Def play this game if you want your fingers to hurt and weird groaning / mumbling in your ear. Pretty fun play I will keep playing. The angel is my husband now 10/10
Fun horror to play. A bit simple and boring in the end, however, I guess, everyone is playing for lore.
