An English Haunting

I bought this in a bundle with Nightmare Frames and Dark Rites Of Arkham and loved all three! The way these p&c games by Postmodern Adventures are structured and streamlined is in my opinion the perfect and timeless way to make these kind of games! No unnecessarily cryptic but mostly logical solutions and item combos, great storys with satisfiyng endings (unlike some ape adventures...) that never overstayed their welcome. Of the three I liked Arkham the most but all of them are absolutely worth your time and money! The only thing missing are voice actors but I hope that ends with the next project of Postmodern Adventures or maybe a special edition of these three games. I would volunteer as v.a. free of charge if this gets to the developer! :) Buy these games if you like p&c adventures!

Игра понравилась, очень увлекательная. Это 3-я игра от этой студии, которую я прохожу. Намерена следить за следующими проектами. Разнообразные локации, логичные головоломки, интересный сюжет, обаятельные персонажи. Игра не очень длинная, что одновременно радует (можно пройти за пару вечеров) и расстраивает (хочется больше времени провести с персонажами, продлить путешествие). В целом приятный опыт, довольна игрой.

A pesar de estar haciendo un recorrido inverso de los juegos de Postmodern Adventures y percibir, en un primer momento, que este juego tenía una calidad menor que The Dark Rites of Arkhan, una vez terminado no sabría decir si me ha gustado más uno u otro. Creo que Dark Rites tiene un pixelart más depurado pero, aún así, este juego sigue teniendo un nivel sobresaliente y resulta más llamativo y detallado según se avanza en el juego y se van desbloqueando nuevos decorados. La historia me ha ido atrapando a cada paso un poco más y toda la parte final me ha encantado. A nivel de puzzles, nada excesivamente dificil, aunque tampoco resulta un paseo. Todas las acciones requeridas tienen sentido y el juego te da suficientes pistas para desentrañarlas. Pero hay que estar atento y no ignorar ciertos diálogos. Además destacaría grandes momentos, como el concurso de conocimientos en la librería o el cameo, no tan cameo, de un conocido literato inglés. Magníficos. En defintiva, un juego imprescindible para aquellos que disfrutamos de las aventuras gráficas clásicas y tremendamente recomendable para el resto de juegadores.

best adventure game i have played( and i have played a lot of great new games ) . 9.5 /10 i love the research , puzzles make sense , twists and truly creepy. it is short, but concise. absolute impressed how this loveletter to gothic horror , occultism , spiritism , MR james and lovecraft (in spite of not being english) all connect with folkhorror and just the love of writing and science. marvellous. So far , my favourite of postmodern adventures game : José María Meléndez knows how to weave a story and appreciate the medium of point n click . superb.

Nice little P&C Adventure with an interesting story, some damn good humour shining through every now and then.

I had a lot of fun playing this game. I loved the art, the music, the dialogue, the story, the characters, and basically everything about it. I'll probably check out other games these developers have made as well.

Great point and click game. Beautiful pixel art and animations. Set in 1907 in England, the plot follows an investigation into the disappearance of a collegue, as well as investigating paranormal phenomena. You visit a range of locations and the puzzles are about right in terms of difficulty. The game is quite dialogue heavy, but I enjoyed the dialogue and the characters (my only gripe was there were a couple of anachronistic Americanisms in the English). The music is a selection of real music from the time period. I can't wait to see the next game from Postmodern Adventures, he has been making the best point & click adventures in recent years, always with spooky/paranormal stories.

A highly enjoyable adventure. Puzzles are nicely balanced and progress feels natural throughout. An interesting story, very well written. Definitely worth your time if you enjoy point and click adventures, and the supernatural. Hoping we get a sequel.

I really enjoyed the story told in this game and the pacing. I got quite caught up in it! The soundtrack is really atmospheric, definitely sets a tone of eeriness. I almost felt like I could feel the characters getting colder in the presence of a ghost! The puzzles weren't overly difficult but still required a little thought and allowed for a fun bit of interaction to compliment the adventure. I thought the dialague was well thought out and also the game plays really well, it made me feel like the devs had really thought about the player experience. Muchly appreciate that I didn't have to go pixel hunting. Definitely recommend to anyone who likes a ghost story.
