Very enjoyable adventure in the style of a gothic horror novel (with some eldritch horror added for flavor). I would have appreciated if the game had hotspot highlighting, but the hotspot areas are sufficiently large to not turn finding them into a pixel hunt. The puzzles are all quite logical and straightforward. The (optional) pop quiz in the bookstore was crazy, though. I'm not an avid reader of horror novels, so I hadn't even heard of half the stuff the shopkeeper was asking about, and actually read only a fraction of the other half. Rating: ★★★★☆
Original, hilarious and verrry English haha
This studio's games keep getting better and better. I Really enjoyed this one, much like Nightmare Frames its a very rich experience that doesn't drag, dipped in love for the horror genre and this time its focused on literature. Great story, great locations, fleshed out characters + some famous cameos, Defenitely worths a look if you like modern point and click adventure games.
Nice game, not very long (about 5 hours) but it was clearly made by classic horror enthusiasts. I would have appreciated some voice acting.
Amazing game, engaging plot that keeps you hooked from start till the end, impeccable writing and dialogues, gripping atmosphere. Highly recommended!
Wow, what an adventure! This game was WELL worth the price for a GREAT point and click game with pitch perfect haunting-story vibes. Again, the progression of the story was incredibly well done and all of the characters were great. This was very well researched. At first I worried having historical figures in it would make it all obnoxious but that was far-far-far from the experience I had. This studio is such a gem!
Postmodern Adventures made miracles with AGS again, after Nightmare Frames. An excellent horror story with great writing and strong references to 19th / early 20th century literature. Especially towards the ending, it gave me a lot of spineback chills. Remarkable for a pixel art game. Looking forward to playing Dark Rites Of Arkham and any future games of this great developer. 9/10
Definitely one of the better adventure games. Exciting and well-designed puzzles. The only downside is that it’s a bit dialogue-heavy; voice acting and translation would be fantastic.
