Another day, another aMAZE game. This time there's two mazes instead of one! You know, because that's how progress works. Literally the only difference between this and the more recent games in the series is instead of having one large maze, you'll now have two small to medium sized ones either side of the screen. Start at the very top or bottom of a maze, find a gem to unlock the portal at the centre, then go through the portal to repeat the process on the other side. I don't really know what this is adding to the formula at all. If anything, it's just taking away, since, instead of having one large maze to potentially meander in, you'll have two small ones to very quickly and easily find your way through. I found myself either being bored and merely going through the motions with practically zero challenge on offer, or else being annoyed at the return of the eye-searing backgrounds that can once again hinder your ability to navigate. I guess I'd rate this positively just because there's nothing ultimately bad about it, and it's still a reasonable enough distraction where you get what you pay for over the course of fifty stages and about an hour's worth of play. But overall, when compared to the rest of the series, it's a pretty weak outing that's just slightly above average enough to be looked upon more favourably than negatively.
Recomendado!
aMAZE Double is a typical puzzle maze game. The controls are terrible and the ball acts super oddly. The description of the game states that you can use W A S D or arrows to move the ball, but I initially thought you couldn't.... until I clicked on the instructions of how to control the ball to switch them, why are just both of them not enabled by default??? The graphics are very unappealing and super distracting. The music is repetitive and bad. The game plays just like a flash game, so as a paid product it falls short. The game is around an hour long. This game has a special feature where you have to gather a gem from the maze and then go through the portal, but you actually have to do it twice because the levels have 2 boards each (because it's aMAZE 'Double', get it?) Honestly, it's not less or more fun than the other iterations of this game, but the controls feels even worse and it's harder to see where you're going in this game over the other ones. Overall, it feels boring. Passable if you like maze games.
aMAZE Double
My cat was more entertained watching the ball move around the screen than I was playing this. It's a generic maze game with eyesore backgrounds where you control a janky ball.
Another aMaze iteration. Poor control response, repetative music track (this one suits the colouration/theme of aMaze Double but is not enjoyable) and exceptionally harsh colours. the mazes here are so washed out with background "noise" as to make seeing some maze walls and your "ball" difficult in some locations. If you are a fan of the series or want some easy achivements then purchase this on sale or as part of a discounted bundle. this product, due primarly to the graphical "noise" is not worth a buy as a solo product.
