About
Alruna, sweet Alruna, can you feel the emptiness? What little remains of the material world has long since been hollowed out by the Necro-Industrialists. All that’s left now is … salvation? Enlightenment in the age of consumption. The race towards heaven is on, and the flower-nymph Alruna has to confront the macabre and masochistic martyrdom of her fellow dryad Divinity’s Creature. Life is suffering, but suffering brings sainthood. Beyond the End of History lies the promise of Elysium. I am Heaven's Gate, Alruna. Will you come inside?

Alruna’s move-set is more expressive than ever. Super-jumps, bounces and Hyper-dashes allow her to reach all sorts of new places. The Blossom Blaster lets Alruna to shoot, and to bounce on her projectiles for an extra boost. Elemental power-ups can turn her into Fire Alruna, Water Alruna, Thunder Alruna and maybe more. Climbing Vines can grow from any surface. Bosses fill the whole screen, mini-bosses hide behind every corner. Entire hidden areas can be found under any innocuous rock. Everything is connected!
An overworld that connects all areas of the game.
Four large “temples”, each one with a powerful upgrade and a formidable boss.
A star-crossed enemies-to-lovers romance with a rival adventurer. No spoilers!
Hidden mini-games, power-ups, shortcuts and secrets behind every wall.

An enjoyable little metroidvania. You get to start with a lot of abilities from the get-go so that is nice. I am a fan of the aesthetic this game has with nature vs post apocalyptic stuff. I'm really bad at writing reviews. But I'd say if you enjoy such games and like the older style metroidvanias then this is definitely worth a try.
Вроде ниче так пока, пойдет как замена недостатка игр с шанте в организме. Спасибо календарю стима, всегда знает че мне подогнать, чего бы я никогда сам не нашел
Incredibly frustrating level design. Wonky controller mechanics. Sometimes the crouch dash just doesn't work. Complicated jumps for the sake of being complicated, I guess. It's clearly not for me.
Cool game
If you're looking for something like Metroid but very different, this is it. It is mild when it comes to difficulty, though that can vary by how you choose to upgrade. Exploration is where the real fun of the game is and the music. Aesthetic and overall thematic composition of the game is top notch. I immediately bought this game because I want to see what these guys end up doing with more money. It'd be cool if more people got to play the Alruna games.
A fun Metroidvania with some bonkers movement tech.
Alruna: End of History is a very atmospheric metroidvania. There is a heavy retro feel to the game. For fans of what tends to make metroidvanias metroidvanias, Alruna is sure to please. This game encourages sequence-breaking and is in turn quite non-linear. There are plenty of secrets, including rooms behind breakable walls, things that don't always appear as they seem, and walls that don't act like walls. You (can) get ability upgrades as you progress which allows you to access previously inaccessible areas. There's combat, platforming, and a story to enjoy. I really enjoyed the narrative, as I felt it fit perfectly with the overall vibe of the game (cyberpunk/dystopian/heretical/one might even say edgy lol). The music is so good and adds to/amplifies the aesthetics in the game. The few minor quips I had about the first game have all been addressed in this game (with the exception of achievements, but I saw what the dev said about them, so no big). The game took me 7 hours to complete with 58/75 dew drops (77%). There are a few I can see on my map, but I haven't been able to figure out how to get them, and then there must be more that are hidden away. I suspect it'd take another 1-1.5 hours to get them all depending on how creative I am lol. I believe completing the game with all of them unlocks another ending. If you enjoyed the first game, this is an improved version of it that maintains its style/appeal. If you like purity testing metroidvanias, then you'll likely also be satisfied. Either way, I really appreciated my time with this game. AVOID | LACKING | MAYBE | WORTHWHILE | COMPELLING | UNMISSABLE
A worthy successor to the original. New moves and an upgrade system are welcome additions.
The first game was awkward in many places, but had a solid foundation for improvement. This game did not feel like an improvement, and was more awkward than the previous. The control problems were compounded. The map is more of a maze, with many one-way paths, while also removing the interconnected fast-travel warps. The story is nigh-incomprehensible, mostly an excuse to quote song lyrics. The entire affair feels unsatisfying.
A cozy, short and simple Metroidvania but not much to see beyond its nice 16 bit pixel art.
