I'm fully prepared to admit I'm simply too stupid for this kind of game, however not only do I fail to understand how I was supposed to figure it out on my own, I fail to understand how anyone was supposed to figure it out on their own, except by sheer trial and error which I imagine could easily take hours to get one ending (out of five). These endings are also relatively similar, with the player needing to make some small changes at specific points to alter the outcome. Besides those endings, there are two more achievements for hitting the undo button 500 and 1500 times, with one of the endings being locked behind 1000 undo button presses. An undo is only valid once one does something, so grinding for these involves clicking on one block then clicking undo, over and over again. Thankfully autoclickers work, but even with one you have three out of seven achievements that are very tedious to get by design, and one could argue the other achievements are as well. So ultimately you have an intentionally obtuse puzzle game that even when you know exactly what to do is still incredibly time consuming, repetitive, boring, and multiple other words, none of them flattering, presumably to frustrate and annoy all but the absolute best puzzle solvers and most stubborn individuals. Honestly, I respect it. This game is also free, so it will cost nothing but your time and sanity. I can't in good conscious recommend this game as it wasn't even close to worth the time for me, but if you've read through this review and aren't put off by my opinions then go for it.
The first playthrough made me feel like an idiot. The third playthrough made me feel like a genius. The fifth playthrough made me feel like a caveman repeatedly bashing his head against a rock. decentfreegame/10
"Alignment" is a simple minimalist pixel mobile/Flash tier puzzle game where you need to align some pixel blobs. Or not. I'm pretty sure gamers aren't buying up 5090RTX GPUs so they can play glorified Flash games. This features really godawful pixelcrap "art" instead of real graphics. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating 3D visuals, or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this looks much worse than most other games because of that decision, and that's a major deterrent to gamers. Games like Terraria and Stardew Valley succeeded despite the bad graphics, not because of them. This is "free" enough, at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 15 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Not this time. This isn't worth downloading. While this won't cost you any money, you get what you pay for, and sometimes, even when the game is free, it's still not enough.
Nice freebie! A figure it out as you go type puzzle game which could have become maddening trial and error if it wasn't for the undo button being so swift. You can occasionally lose track of one of the blocks because it gets stuck to a disappearing platform - would be nice if that could be prevented somehow. There's multiple endings if you care for that sort of thing, but one play through was enough for me.
I had this game in my libarary for quite a few years and im glad to finally have tried it. I really enjoyed the challenge and the way it made my brain think. Thank you devs for the effort
