Wouldn't buy in its current state if you intend on playing VR. Couldn't get multiplayer to work. My friend would connect and I could hear his voice in game for a second but then he wouldn't be there. Wouldn't show in the player list either. Also when setting a password for online you have to do it from the desktop version then close out and launch from VR, pretty tedious, early access isnt an excuse for leaving out basic UI for VR either IMO. Gunplay is just clunky and horrendous. Needs way more work before asking for people to pay for this game, even as an early access. Desktop might be okay I didn't try that much but VR is a no go.
Only tried the desktop version so far, but the game has potential for sure, very active and friendly dev team, had issues launching the game but Xtian helped me out :)

There absolutely is potential in this game and with a few worthy updates it could be awesome. But right now i feel its somewhat unintuitive, its not clear how some stuff works, and has this overall roughness feel. Gameplay feels unpolished, i "never" can grab what i want from my holsters on the first try, enemy animations are clunky and unnatural and not in a zombielike way. That being said, the map is quite big, and its quite impressive whats already here for such an early stage of the game. Graphics and performance where great, audio was fine too. I wanted to Coop this with my kid but its not currently in a state where he could handle the clunk. Its an awesome concept, awesome potential, but currently it has some poor gameplay choices and overall clunkyness. Id recommend this to anyone that wants to support the project, but know that currently its still has a lot of way to go.
EDIT: Since the big engine change update, the game is MUCH more polished. Shooting feels better and more realistic and performance issues have been fixed for me for the most part. This is a GREAT VR game. It's very early and has some minor issues that absolutely need tweaking, but it's already really entertaining and immersive. PRO: - IMMERSIVE AND EXCITING - VEHICLES WITH HEADLIGHTS AND INTERACTIVE STICK SHIFT (DRIVING IS SEMI STRANGE THOUGH LOL) - NICE AMOUNT OF LOOT TO FIND IN THE WORLD. THIS ISN'T DAY Z. - LOTS OF GEAR TO FIND, INCLUDING CLOTHING TO WEAR - MULTIPLAYER IS EXTREMELY IMMERSIVE AND FUN - DIFFICULT, BUT NOT TARKOV DIFFICULT - RUNS VERY SMOOTH ON MY 3060 TI + RYZEN 5 2600 X + 16 GB RAM BUILD - A BRIGHT FUTURE BRIMMING WITH POTENTIAL CONS: - OPEN WORLD IS FINE, BUT LACKING DETAIL AND DIRECTION. NEED MORE MEMORABLE LANDMARKS AND MORE CONCISE, LOGICAL PATHS - MORE ALIEN VARIETY (IT'S FINE THOUGH TBH) - GUN FIRE IS SLIGHTLY CORNY, BUT IT'S ALSO WELL DONE. HARD TO EXPLAIN. KIND OF LOOKS LIKE YOU ARE SHOOTING BB GUN PELLETS, BUT IT STILL ENDS UP FEELING BRUTAL WHEN YOU GET A NICE KILL. - DRIVING IS AWESOME, BUT WEIRD. YOU CAN ONLY HOLD THE WHEEL WITH ONE HAND AND THE OTHER ON THE STICK. YOU USE THE STICK AS A GAS PEDAL ESSENTIALLY, WHICH IS STRANGE AF. - GRIP CONTROLS ARE EXTREMELY WONKY AND NEED A TON OF WORK. PREPARE TO BE FIDDLING AROUND LIKE A FOOL TRYING TO PULL YOUR KNIFE OUT ETC. THINGS JUST DON'T REGISTER AND BOTH TRIGGERS SEEM TO DO THE SAME THING, BUT AT AN INCONSISTENT RATE. THIS IS THE WORST ISSUE IN THE GAME IMO. Even at full price, I would say this is worth your money in it's current state. There is no other VR game like this at the moment and I can see this blowing up in popularity soon. As for the desktop version? I have no idea, but this game was clearly made for VR first.
I have had lots of fun playing this in co-op with my friends in VR. We have a great dev team here that actually wants to make a fun game and they listen to the feedback with fast fixes. I am very excited to see what comes next. Playing on HP Reverb G2 (WMR).
Awesome game! It's more fun in VR and with a group of friends. You can steal things from other VR players, so it makes for some good laughs. It can be a little buggy sometimes, but remember its still in early access. Plus, the devs are really friendly and willing to help fix any bugs, just let them know and they are really quick to help! It's only going to get better from here too. Overall: If you're looking for fun, you'll definitely have it
There's just something about this game. It's pretty simplistic and modest. Not really a lot going on but everytime I do an escape run I end up having lots of fun and always play for over an hour. Active dev so more content to come!
I love the idea of this game and have had a blast playing this briefly with my partner, myself in VR on the Quest 2 and my partner on flat screen. There is still a lot missing but I am excited to see where the devs go with this one.
Getting better
Its a good game, having a lot of fun playing it, expect a few bugs (nothing game breaking), and the devs are cool. They care too. If you come into the game knowing that the game is not perfect and your objective is to have fun, then you will have a lot it. Worth the money.
