Fun little, sokoban-esque puzzle game. The level designs are actually very well made, and really bring out the interesting interactions between the different mechanics. Really makes you have to think sometimes, especially when trying to beat the "Pony moves"(Dev highscore)
#AkiRobots by FlatPonies is a puzzle-platformer that builds its identity around clarity, structure, and a steadily evolving set of mechanics rather than spectacle or narrative ambition. At first glance, it presents itself as a bright and approachable game with a simple goal: guide a specific robot to a power outlet to complete each level. Beneath that simplicity, however, lies a layered system that gradually demands more careful thought and planning as players are introduced to new robot types and environmental interactions. It is a game that relies less on reflexes and more on understanding how individual elements interact, making it feel closer to a logic puzzle than a traditional platformer. The visual style reinforces this accessibility. The game uses a clean, colorful aesthetic with rounded shapes and clearly defined elements, ensuring that players can easily read each level at a glance. There is a playful tone throughout, with robots designed to be expressive without becoming distracting, and environments that prioritize function without sacrificing charm. While the presentation is not especially detailed or complex, it serves its purpose well by keeping the focus on the puzzles themselves. The simplicity of the visuals becomes an advantage as the game grows more demanding, preventing clutter from interfering with the player’s ability to think through solutions. The core gameplay revolves around controlling multiple robots simultaneously, each with distinct behaviors that must be used in combination to progress. Some robots act as platforms, others influence direction or movement, and certain types are essential for reaching otherwise inaccessible areas. The challenge comes from orchestrating these roles in the correct sequence, often requiring players to plan several steps ahead. Instead of reacting to obstacles in real time, players are encouraged to pause, observe, and experiment. This creates a satisfying loop where trial and error leads to understanding, and understanding leads to more efficient solutions. As the game progresses, the level design becomes increasingly intricate. New mechanics are introduced at a steady pace, and earlier concepts are revisited in more complex configurations. This layering of ideas keeps the experience engaging, as players are constantly asked to rethink how familiar tools can be applied in new ways. The difficulty curve is generally well managed, though it does include occasional spikes where multiple mechanics are combined in ways that can feel overwhelming at first. These moments may require several attempts to solve, but they rarely feel arbitrary, instead pushing players to refine their approach and deepen their understanding of the systems. One of the more notable aspects of #AkiRobots is its emphasis on creativity through its level editor. Players are given the tools to modify existing puzzles or construct entirely new ones, which can then be shared with others. This feature extends the game beyond its built-in content, offering an additional layer of engagement for those who enjoy designing challenges as much as solving them. While not essential to the core experience, it adds a sense of longevity and opens the door for a community-driven expansion of ideas. Where the game is more limited is in its overall scope outside of puzzle mechanics. There is little narrative context or character development, and the experience remains focused almost entirely on its gameplay systems. For some players, this streamlined approach will be a strength, allowing them to engage with the puzzles without distraction. For others, it may feel like something is missing, particularly over longer play sessions where a greater sense of progression or variety could help maintain momentum. The repetition of core mechanics, while intentional, can also begin to feel predictable once the player has fully grasped how the systems operate. Despite these limitations, #AkiRobots succeeds in delivering a cohesive and thoughtfully designed puzzle experience. Its mechanics are clear, its challenges are consistently engaging, and its presentation supports its gameplay without unnecessary complication. It is a game that understands its strengths and builds upon them methodically, offering a steady stream of logical challenges that reward patience and careful thinking. In the end, #AkiRobots stands as a focused and well-executed entry in the puzzle-platformer genre. It may not aim for emotional storytelling or visual grandeur, but it compensates with solid design and a clear sense of purpose. Players who enjoy structured puzzles and gradual complexity will find a lot to appreciate here, while those seeking a more varied or narrative-driven experience may find it somewhat limited. Pony Moves) Impossible! 97/100 Pony Moves!
I'm part-way through, and it's getting tougher (trying to get par on level 39). So far this game strikes a nice balance of being challenging without being too hard. The par scores make you think about how to be more efficient while making it clear that there are savings to be had. The graphics are fun while being readable so you don't feel overwhelmed by visual noise. I'm digging it.
game
Good puzzle game with a nice aesthetic. Deserves more recognition so please consider buying it if you like puzzle games where your actions affect multiple pieces on the screen.
👍
cool graphics and challenging puzzles! Very nice approach for sokoban-style game. Pretty difficult sometimes as well, which is how I like it! Recommended if you like unusual challenging puzzles and nice simplistic graphics 👌
