About

Build, Gather and Fight in a Desperate Last Stand Against an Onslaught of Never Ending Evil!
The darkness is an entity of evil. Some say it is the manifestation of human fear and nightmares, others say it is a wandering mass of damned souls haunting us. The origin of the darkness itself is unknown, but one thing for certain is that we can keep it at bay through the power of light and fire.
The complete, full release of Age of Darkness: Final Stand is available now and includes Co-operative Multiplayer, Campaign, and Survival modes.

Brace yourself against huge tidal waves of Nightmares. Leveraging an internally developed technology called ‘SwarmTech’ allows the game to render over 70,000 enemy units on the screen at one time. These enemy legions claw their way up through seething fissures in the earth to reinforce ‘The Veil’.

Light up a rich, complex, procedurally generated map to claim territory back from ‘The Veil’. A dynamic living death fog that conceals enemies and drains life from your troops. Holding the line against this terror is not for the faint of heart.

Borrowing from the the roguelite genre, Malices are random afflictions placed on the player during every Death Night, unraveling the best made plans. Conversely, if a Death Night is survived, you may decide between three randomly selected Blessings, enriching the experience and giving your army a much needed edge.

Lead the charge against the horrors of the night with powerful and unique Heroes. Using special abilities gained from leveling up, these Heroes can be key to turning the tide of a desperate battle. But beware, the Nightmares have Elite roaming champions of their own that drop precious resources when killed, posing an extreme and ever-present threat to your expansion.

Co-Op Multiplayer - Team up with a friend in co-op multiplayer to survive the onslaught, defend humanity from the forces beyond the Veil, and reclaim the light together
Epic Campaign - Award winning single-player campaign full of epic battles and dire threats
Survival Mode - Put your endurance and skills to the test in the endlessly replayable Survival Mode
Award-Winning SwarmTech™ Technology – Witness the internally developed ‘SwarmTech’ technology, allowing the game to render over 70,000 enemy AI units on the screen at one time.
Unique Heroes & Factions – Choose Heroes reigning from three distinct Factions - The Order, Rebellion & Volatists - each with their own playstyles, abilities, bonuses and army units that offer a unique gameplay experience.
Dynamic Day & Night Cycle – Fight to reclaim territory by day and survive against the relentless horrors that come with every night.
Living Death Fog – Encounter The Veil, a living death fog that conceals terrors and adds a new layer of danger to your survival, which must be kept at bay through the power of the Light.
Malices, Blessings & Hardships – Embrace roguelite mechanics that make every run unpredictable and unique.
Elite Nightmares – Hunt down wandering powerful enemies for Dark Essence, each requiring different tactics and strategies to defeat.
Horror and Embolden Status Effects - Embolden your army to aid them in battle, but ensure they are protected from the brutal effects of being Horrified.
Terrifying Nightmare Foes – Face off against horrifying monsters like Spitters, Crushers, and Wraiths, each wielding unique abilities.

With this devs behavior, just get for free. No updates will come anyway. They scammed everyone and left.
Great potential, but just not enough content to remain enjoyable. I am missing: - Coop larger than 2 players - Map variation, especially in size - More 'faction' locked buildings, not just cosmetics and heroes - More heroes

Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.14/day in the week to Jul 30 → 1.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

This game doesn't make much sense. It tries to be some kind of world of warcraft like characters zombie defence game but it's horribly unbalanced. It doesn't do anything well. It's kind of mush, meh.
so first of all had alot of fun in survival and my god is it crazy in the rounds to come, love the defence you can create with walls, towers and build strong armies to counter the night BUT this is where i will say the campaign SUCKS, i was hoping the devs would put more effort in and dlc or expansions as well. The campaign map is massive with so much potential to see, more stories and other factions to play but nope lazy ass devs cash in and out. 5/10 game
Мало того, что ее выпилили из моего региона, так еще этот "калич" перестал запускаться не синхронизируясь с облаком.
Co-op not working
Age of Darkness Final Stand is one of several games that followed in the footsteps of They are Billions. A RTS Tower-Defense game that added its own twist but falls short of the potential held. I'm going to start this review off with a simple 'I do not recommend' because there is no 'Eh' option for Steam. They are Billions is vastly superior to it, despite being more Modern and missing heroes. If you like They are Billions and are desperate for more, give this game a shot if you haven't already tried The Last Spell. Age of Darkness is an attempt to jump on the bandwagon and, upon getting a contract for Game of Thrones, the Devs Immediately ditched this game for the sake of another. Hammering out a 'Co-Op Mode' and a few small patches without any further intent to resolve issues. Their Pathing is flawed. AI will get stuck on buildings for no reason. Their stance system is neat but absolutely horrible in implementation/use. You can form the formations offered for use but the AI won't use them as a 'Move in this Pattern' where most characters will collect into balls of death. Attacking the ground will cause them to walk right by enemies to a specific point or, worse, have them run twenty yards north into a completely different enemy that no-one else is targeting. Potential is potential, still, however. The Devs just seemed too quick to jump onto the Publisher deal for Game of Thrones using the same formula instead of getting the formula nailed down. It'll cost them in the long run, likely, and I'd definitely avoid pre-ordering their next game or getting it on 'Early Access'
I really wish there was another option beside good or bad reviews. I don't want to give this game a bad review. But I don't want to give it a good one either. This game is just as mediocre as it gets. - The story, as far as I cared to follow it, is completely predictable - it even has it's own "I am your father" moment... Nooo.. thanks. - Base building: It feels quite clumsy. Collecting resources is a passive affair, you only have to protect your buildings, once built and revenue from whatever resource the building collects flows in. It's easy enough. But whatever you're building doesn't feel well planned out and meaningful. Even higher tier buildings don't feel impactful enough to warrant the effort. Just spam easy-to-replace standard units and you'll be able to finish you mission. - Your heroes: They do make a difference but once they die, the mission is over. And boy do they die easy at times. Never jump to another part of the map while your hero is outside your base because sure enough some trash mob will show up to ruin your parade. You will not receive a warning when your hero (or your base for that matter) is attacked. It's just a game over message on your screen all of a sudden. - The campaign, such as it is, consist of repetitive build-base-crush-opponent or seek and destroy missions. If it's cheap, if you're really bored and lack any other alternative ... go read a book. You will not feel entertained here.
The game keeps crashing all the time =( Have started 3 coop sessions with my brother and can't play any of them cause when we try to load the previously saved game, it just crashes =(
Niby 3 rasy, a różnice pomiędzy nimi wynoszą 15%. Kampania zniechęcająca. Słabo rozbudowana gra aczkolwiek dobra na 20h dla przeciętnego gracza zaznajomionego z gatunkiem, całkiem niezła. Szkoda że nie jest bardziej rozbudowana.
