About

Build, Gather and Fight in a Desperate Last Stand Against an Onslaught of Never Ending Evil!
The darkness is an entity of evil. Some say it is the manifestation of human fear and nightmares, others say it is a wandering mass of damned souls haunting us. The origin of the darkness itself is unknown, but one thing for certain is that we can keep it at bay through the power of light and fire.
The complete, full release of Age of Darkness: Final Stand is available now and includes Co-operative Multiplayer, Campaign, and Survival modes.

Brace yourself against huge tidal waves of Nightmares. Leveraging an internally developed technology called ‘SwarmTech’ allows the game to render over 70,000 enemy units on the screen at one time. These enemy legions claw their way up through seething fissures in the earth to reinforce ‘The Veil’.

Light up a rich, complex, procedurally generated map to claim territory back from ‘The Veil’. A dynamic living death fog that conceals enemies and drains life from your troops. Holding the line against this terror is not for the faint of heart.

Borrowing from the the roguelite genre, Malices are random afflictions placed on the player during every Death Night, unraveling the best made plans. Conversely, if a Death Night is survived, you may decide between three randomly selected Blessings, enriching the experience and giving your army a much needed edge.

Lead the charge against the horrors of the night with powerful and unique Heroes. Using special abilities gained from leveling up, these Heroes can be key to turning the tide of a desperate battle. But beware, the Nightmares have Elite roaming champions of their own that drop precious resources when killed, posing an extreme and ever-present threat to your expansion.

Co-Op Multiplayer - Team up with a friend in co-op multiplayer to survive the onslaught, defend humanity from the forces beyond the Veil, and reclaim the light together
Epic Campaign - Award winning single-player campaign full of epic battles and dire threats
Survival Mode - Put your endurance and skills to the test in the endlessly replayable Survival Mode
Award-Winning SwarmTech™ Technology – Witness the internally developed ‘SwarmTech’ technology, allowing the game to render over 70,000 enemy AI units on the screen at one time.
Unique Heroes & Factions – Choose Heroes reigning from three distinct Factions - The Order, Rebellion & Volatists - each with their own playstyles, abilities, bonuses and army units that offer a unique gameplay experience.
Dynamic Day & Night Cycle – Fight to reclaim territory by day and survive against the relentless horrors that come with every night.
Living Death Fog – Encounter The Veil, a living death fog that conceals terrors and adds a new layer of danger to your survival, which must be kept at bay through the power of the Light.
Malices, Blessings & Hardships – Embrace roguelite mechanics that make every run unpredictable and unique.
Elite Nightmares – Hunt down wandering powerful enemies for Dark Essence, each requiring different tactics and strategies to defeat.
Horror and Embolden Status Effects - Embolden your army to aid them in battle, but ensure they are protected from the brutal effects of being Horrified.
Terrifying Nightmare Foes – Face off against horrifying monsters like Spitters, Crushers, and Wraiths, each wielding unique abilities.

Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.14/day in the week to Jul 30 → 1.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Feels like a good ground for a game, but comes up lacking. The enemy waves you fight have bullet spongey suicide bombers in them, so at no real point can you stop micro managing the soldiers to run away from the explosion. The 10 mission campaign ends suddenly, needing like an ending cutscene to at least wrap things up? Honestly out of the 10 missions 8 were forgettable, the ninth mission was rather difficult for how easy everything else was, and the tenth mission was well made and fun. Wasn't buggy, but the game could really use just more of everything. More enemy variations, more units to command. People say this is a ripoff of they are billions, but I feel like that's just because this game almost stands on two legs. I'd consider this unfinished.
Wasted Potential As a big fan of They Are Billions, I was really hoping Age of Darkness would scratch that same survival-strategy itch. And visually, it certainly looks the part — dark, moody, and stylish. But sadly, almost everything under the surface feels rushed or unfinished. The campaign is weak: around 10 missions with bland design and an uninteresting story. Worse, there's no difficulty selection — which feels borderline criminal for a game like this. Co-op can be fun, but even there the cracks start to show. The game sometimes lags, crashes, or forces you into frustrating remakes. Many mechanics feel poorly thought out, and bugs are still common. To make matters worse, it seems like the developer has more or less abandoned post-launch updates since the game left Early Access. In the end, Age of Darkness feels like a missed opportunity. There’s potential here, but it’s buried under half-baked systems and a lack of polish. The wasted potential is just too disappointing.
Decent game, but weird bugs. and the devs. has abandoned the game, with no further updates. which is sad
It's very "alright." If you played They are Billions, you will have uncanny valley effect playing this. I'm being very uncharitable, but I can't help but see this as some guys playing TAB, going "Hey... i could do better!", then failing to actually do better. They just kinda remixed some stuff around that might make it more palatable for certain types of players, but BETTER? No. TAB has severe issues, yes... I have rage-uninstalled that game more than once. But this has different issues from decisions made by the devs. it all washes out to be decent... but since they have basically made this abandonware at this point, it's hard to suggest. With some extra polish this might be great, but right now, only get this if you want to expiriment with what the same game designed by 2 different groups is like on a severe sale like I did. Am I glad that the houses breaking don't create an unwinnable cascade? yes. Is the light management better than the electricity 'territory gain' gameplay of TAB? Not at all. Am I glad that the units are more interesting and the WC3 mod style heroes are welcome variety? Yes! But am I happy that the game is sloppily balanced around those units and heroes... not IMBALANACED just not very tight like TAB, where you know that 2 shots from a marine = dead zed, 3 from an archer, and the speed between zeds and units is tightly intertwined... no, that's a straight downgrade. I like pikemen that attack behind walls, I like being able to ignite walls to damage zeds, I like the unit types... but I also dislike the cramped world gen and building size that seems to force a playstyle that isn't very interesting, the economy is pretty also sloppy, and why did they add random mobile game mechanics like clicking fish to get gold or your stockpile just kind of randomly generating gold on it's own, rather than actually being a resource management aid???? Overall, it suffers from 80% of the same issues Billions does, fixes a few critical issues and then introduces 10 other minor ones. Maybe you could call this progress, but it feels more like when an american studio tries an entry in a Japanese franchise... it's more visually impressive and flashy, more tempting with options and variety, but it's all hollow calories and they removed the soul of the experience to offer those things.

Just another lie like many others.
A better Themed and Improved gameplay with really cool features they are billons, with heroes (which i wish there were more) and a really nice 2 player co-op (which i wish were 3 player co-op like you have in spoilers)
the last mission on the campaign)
Also it's very cool visually, performance wise it's pretty decent, and it's got a decent amount of content and variation too, i wish you could have 1 more player on multiplayer thought
