Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.25/day in the week to Aug 3 → 2.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About

With a writing team that includes credits on Far Cry, Mass Effect, and Sovereign Syndicate, Aether & Iron brings to life an alternate timeline in which anti-gravitational aether technology has reshaped the city skyline and deepened social divides.
Thoroughly researched and inspired by real-life counterparts from 1930s New York City, explore its backstreets, dive into its seedy underbelly, marvel at stunning architecture, and peel back the city's many layers of power and greed.
Your choices shape not just your path, but the city's fate as well. Will you rise as a savior, withdraw as a renegade, or evolve into a symbol of resilience in a world of authoritarian barons and high-stakes strategy?

What good is a smuggler without a good getaway car? Assemble a wide range of incredible aether-powered vehicles and unlock new tactical options to try out in an interesting twist on strategic, turn-based vehicular battles.
Tinker with your rides to suit your playstyle. Do you prefer moving hard and fast, relying on speed for quick getaways? Or perhaps you might prefer to slap on some steel plates and bust out the grenade launcher!

The streets of New York can be unforgiving without reliable backup. Recruit unique and resourceful companions to watch your back, and follow their stories. Each is armed with a range of talents that can make all the difference in a jam.
We have over 200 voiced characters in the game, here are a few:

Dive Into An Underground Life: Navigate secret paths, dodge enemies, hide contraband, and stay ahead of the big bosses out to get you. Perhaps join a rebellion along the way.
Your Choices Matter: Your decisions will shape the unfolding history of New York and the lives of its citizens, determining whether they will be able to find hope in a corrupt world of manipulation and violence.
Grow Your Talents: Level up your Hustle, Smarts, and Brass abilities to improve your chances in combat and social situations. But no matter how good you are always a dice roll away from success or failure.
Drive In Style: Upgrade your aether-powered rides to suit your playstyle. Enhance your cars with every trick in the smuggler’s toolkit - hidden compartments, smoke dispensers, and flamethrowers of course.
Hand-drawn Art: Inspired by 1930’s Detective Comics and the Art Deco period, Aether & Iron brings a unique visual identity to gameplay.
Full English Language Voice Acting: Experience an alt-history 1930s New York directly through the voices of its inhabitants. Learn their stories; sometimes funny, sometimes philosophical, usually tragic.

This is a super straight linear VISUAL NOVEL. The clickbaity "game mechanics" are just there to widen the customer base, but completely irrelevant to the game itself (which is the visual novel, and not some tactical whatever it tried to claim to be). Talent tree? Irrelevant, you can still lose dice rolls, and combat is laughably easy. Dice rolls? Irrelevant. It is a check for getting nothing or something extra that is so minimal it might as well not be at all. (in example a success gives you like 12 xp and 20 money, a story event gives you SEVERAL HUNDREDS xp and even more money) the game is ballanced to a level where you can do everything even if you lose every single dice check, so getting some of them is irrelevant. Dialog options? Irrelevant, main story is on rails (it even has auto dialog options), the rest of the option is just minor changes in conversation and does not branch or split the story line. Random encounters? every single one is hard coded and tied to the story, you can't run around and "farm". Combat? Damage is practically unavoidable, its just attrition and the game throws repair kit at you like its free candy, the only way you can lose if you decide to do so. Which makes tactical decisions or build options irrelevant. Oh yeah and the whole story is DRENCHED in feminism. I never tought that i ever notice something like this as im unbothered by such things, but this pushes female agenda so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hard im pretty sure even an advocate of feminism would whince on this level. So yeah, this is a simple on rails visual novel, a story and not a game with things that you can play with, just something added to sell it.

Disco Elysium -esque. Choices matter. Game doesn't end if a dice roll goes bad. Love the voice actors! Great art!
good
Finally, I finished a game again. Thats something these days- But what a ride it was. I was hooked from the start. A perfect mix of a game for me. The narrative, the combat system, the art,... stunning. And dont get me started on the Voice Acting. If you are into a great narrative experience, an rp experience that makes you think you are sitting at a table playing pen and paper with your friends- this is for you. I cannot express of how much appreciations I have for the team that made this game! Thx a lot for the time.
Loved the game, almost played it none stop through the weekends Great Voice acting, Great writing (though Predictable who the big bad was) Great Setting Great Character Design car gameplay somewhat fun to play (its not on level with strategy focused game like xcom, but understandable given the highlight on story) highly recommend the game for who enjoy story and turn based combat
Aether & Iron is an impressive game that really hooked me. From the soundtrack to the Art Deco style, the New York they've built is truly immersive. On top of that, there is fantastic character writing. From the different companions you pick up along your journey to the villains themselves. I loved each of the companions that we could bring, but I also wanted to give a big shoutout to the villain character writers. Whoever wrote them really did a good job of building a villain who is definitely an antagonist, but someone who you wonder where their journey to do good stopped and started to go all wrong. I do want to make a quick bug note before moving on. This game has several moments where forward progress was completely busted, including the final boss fight where the fight idled on there turn, forcing me to restart a ways back. These bugs, while frustrating, did not ruin my enjoyment of the game. Save frequently and save often. Lastly, I really enjoyed the tactical Combat structure of this game. I went down the Grease Monkey and Smooth-Talker skill paths with Gia. I also used Cress and Sophie for most of the game. The last fight is definitely a tough one, so you'll definitely want to have some regen/healing as well as the 70% AP DMG move. Overall, I really enjoyed my time in this game. If you are someone who loves RPGs and a great world. This is the game for you! Fantastic job by everyone who worked on this game. Can't wait to see what Seismic Squirrel and Chaos Theory Games do next!
POLECAM.
