Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.25/day in the week to Aug 3 → 2.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About

With a writing team that includes credits on Far Cry, Mass Effect, and Sovereign Syndicate, Aether & Iron brings to life an alternate timeline in which anti-gravitational aether technology has reshaped the city skyline and deepened social divides.
Thoroughly researched and inspired by real-life counterparts from 1930s New York City, explore its backstreets, dive into its seedy underbelly, marvel at stunning architecture, and peel back the city's many layers of power and greed.
Your choices shape not just your path, but the city's fate as well. Will you rise as a savior, withdraw as a renegade, or evolve into a symbol of resilience in a world of authoritarian barons and high-stakes strategy?

What good is a smuggler without a good getaway car? Assemble a wide range of incredible aether-powered vehicles and unlock new tactical options to try out in an interesting twist on strategic, turn-based vehicular battles.
Tinker with your rides to suit your playstyle. Do you prefer moving hard and fast, relying on speed for quick getaways? Or perhaps you might prefer to slap on some steel plates and bust out the grenade launcher!

The streets of New York can be unforgiving without reliable backup. Recruit unique and resourceful companions to watch your back, and follow their stories. Each is armed with a range of talents that can make all the difference in a jam.
We have over 200 voiced characters in the game, here are a few:

Dive Into An Underground Life: Navigate secret paths, dodge enemies, hide contraband, and stay ahead of the big bosses out to get you. Perhaps join a rebellion along the way.
Your Choices Matter: Your decisions will shape the unfolding history of New York and the lives of its citizens, determining whether they will be able to find hope in a corrupt world of manipulation and violence.
Grow Your Talents: Level up your Hustle, Smarts, and Brass abilities to improve your chances in combat and social situations. But no matter how good you are always a dice roll away from success or failure.
Drive In Style: Upgrade your aether-powered rides to suit your playstyle. Enhance your cars with every trick in the smuggler’s toolkit - hidden compartments, smoke dispensers, and flamethrowers of course.
Hand-drawn Art: Inspired by 1930’s Detective Comics and the Art Deco period, Aether & Iron brings a unique visual identity to gameplay.
Full English Language Voice Acting: Experience an alt-history 1930s New York directly through the voices of its inhabitants. Learn their stories; sometimes funny, sometimes philosophical, usually tragic.

A good game, but I would have appreciated an even deeper experience with Aether & Iron's unique tactical play.
Aether & Iron follows a down on her luck smuggler just trying to make it in a world that things she'd be better off dead. After a job gone wrong our protagonist Gia finds here self caught up in a scheme only a shadowy cabal could run. In Aether & Iron you we be split between two mods point and click with dynamic conversations, and automobile based Turn based tactical combat. Lets start with the combat. Its fun and unique in a genre that so often will throw some characters on a map and have you move them to cover and blind fire when an enemy tries to move. Your party of three characters will be placed in different types of automobiles. From coupes to trucks the cars are the star of the show. Depending on the character and the vehicle will determine the play style of the battle. Depending on the vehicle class different types of equipment will be available to add to the car. The heavier the vehicle the more equipment you can add. However heavier vehicles have less Action points (AP). Meaning strategizing which characters and vehicles is essential. Map changes turn to turn. Since combat takes place as you speed down the highway some times broken down vehicles or lane divides may be ahead. The constantly changing highway means paying attention to wear your cars are at all times to avoid unnecessary damage or even instant death. Speaking of instant death, Gia being defeated in combat will result in a game over. Narratively it makes sense but from a gameplay perspective its disappointing. Just means that you spend combat babying Gia more than necessary to avoid having to restart the battle. Other than that though I've found combat to be fun and rewarding. The other half of the game is point and click adventure mixed with chatting up the locals to achieve your goals. Conversations move at a good pace and the voice acting for all the characters is really well done. Every ones voice seems to fit, even if Benny is annoying. During the conversation you have opportunities to make dice rolls. These will be boosted by your skills You've chosen and the party yo have tagging along. Another fun addition to the dice rolls is heat. Since your character is a smuggler stealth is preferred but some actions will actually benefit from having the authorities attention. Making for a fun balance depending on how your evolving Gia's skills. One think that should be noted is this game can be played in permadeath mode; however its more like minor inconvenience mode. As if you die and fail the save file that your currently playing on will be locked but the game saves so regularly and if you have multiple manual saves you can just jump back to one of those saves. This almost always results in you only loosing a few minutes of time getting back to were you were. Permadeath mode only works if you actually commit to it and physically restart the game yourself. Other wise Aether and Iron is a fantastic game with lots to do and a really fun cast of characters. The setting of Decopunk with anti grave tech is also a really fun spin on the 1920's aesthetic. If you enjoyed games like Disco Elysium, Esoteric Ebb, or Zero Parades for Dead Spys. Then this game is definitely right up your alley.

I had a great time with this game, though I'd recommend buying it on sale (as I did). It's a fun indie game with some very likeable characters and the tactical car combat gives it a unique flavor.
Ben disegnato, bella musica. Mi piace.
Amazing story and beautiful writing, the world building is incredibly engaging and there's a fun cast of interesting characters. I wish the combat was a bit better, and some of the "choices" you are asked to make have no real impact on the outcome of the narraitve, but I still thoroughly enjoyed my play time. Would love to see a slightly more polished sequel in the future from these devs.
I really wanted to like this game, but I could not really get into it. Honestly, I would give this a neutral score, if I could, because I know some people will be very happy with how the game plays. I finished the first island, and although the story was fairly engaging, and the art is quite gorgeous, the gameplay part is lackluster. Basically, the whole game is a visual novel with few combat encounters thrown in here and there. And while the story is decent, the voice acting is superb, and the worldbuilding is interesting, the gameplay loop doesn't justify going further. I came for a mixture of tactical combat using retro-futuristic cars, and got a bunch of verbose info-dumps on top of a handful of very easy battles. I tried coming back to this game several times after breaks lasting days and weeks, until I finally realized that I didn't want to continue playing at all, because between the wordy dialogues, all that awaited me were boring, unexciting battles that offered very little challenge.
A fantastic retro-future noir story, with superb voice acting, a nicely twisty plot, characters you really connect with, and a flawless noir tone (which is really easy to mess up). I've been humming the theme song for days now and I have been recommending the game to everyone I know who enjoys rpgs and classic noir with a fun twist. Now if they'd just let me write a tabletop rpg version of this setting for them that would be about the only other thing that could make this game better. Outstanding work.
