Please, don't waste your preacious time
it fun intil you get to the part where no one has been able to pass
"A.V.I" is a simple and amateurish low poly first person adventure game made with the Blender Game Engine, a game engine so bad that it was quickly abandoned by everyone involved with its development. And, thus, games that are made with this engine turn out to be, well, really not good at all. Such is true for A.V.I. What do you do in the game? The idea is that someone recovered a smartphone in 2019 with a spooky .avi video on it, and you follow up by exploring a spooky low poly mansion. Basically the plot of around 90% of amateur made D-grade "found footage" films, yet here we have a video game that's even worse. You're tasked with exploring a creepy mansion, solving puzzles, and avoiding monsters... your basic low quality first person horror jumpscare game. I'm not sure if this is an asset flip, but it's one of those cases where the assets just look much better than the rest of the quality of the game... a glaring inconsistency. And I say "better"... they assets are low poly dross that really does look awful. There's no evidence, but as always, the biggest problem with asset flips besides the plagiarism is the deplorably low quality of the other aspects of the game, and even if the game assets are genuinely created for the game, the quality of the rest of the game is indistinguishable from that of asset flips. This game is fairly dated at 5 years old... and even back then it looked old and busted compared to contemporary, professionally made 3D games of the same period. It looked bad then, it looks worse now. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. Most "free" games on Steam aren't really free. There's usually some kind of monetisation, from nasty mobile app cash shops, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, to any other number of shady pricing schemes that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming industry, and should be applauded. Of course, just because something is free, doesn't necessarily mean it's valuable, or something you might want to spend your time on. Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 3 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Not this time. This isn't worth downloading. While this won't cost you any money, you get what you pay for, and sometimes, even when the game is free, it's still not enough.

Modeled estimate over time.
Hours played at review time, across 35 reviews with recorded playtime.
Basic graphics, lack of plot, janky controls, doors that cannot be unlocked, and locked chests that you cannot put in a different code once you do it the first time. Absolutely awful. Rating: 1/10

Tried to play twice. Game froze. It may be a good game. Who knows? Although, many people seem to think otherwise.
