Tried to find some new games that can beat "Shady O'Grady's™ Rising Star" as Band Tycoon. Pretty good game but a) Too expensive (iOS version cost half) b) Graphic look like it made in Adobe Flash or something c) No other language So... game need some improvements and then maybe it will worth it! 6 Jameses Hetfields from 10
It's a gem! If you like Kairo Games, just get it blindly! No regrets, I promise.
This game is AWESOME for music geeks like me, I originally played this game on my iPad. But now it is unavailable so I got it on my PC. I've had this game since before the pandemic, but still haven't beat it on normal mode. And honestly I'm okay with that because the game is son fun and challenging that it makes up for it. But before you spend your money on this, just know that this game takes strategy and time to get good at. (Also do the tutorial unlike I did lol)
Simple, cheap and can give you some good time. Buy it if you can.
A Story of a Band is a pretty fun cartoony band simulator. The basic idea is simple: you start your band and want to make it to the top. In order to succeed you need to record albums, fight rival bands for reputation and go on tour every now and then. The graphics are passable but the sound is mediocre at best, which is a bummer. The band makes weird noises which represents their music. The chosen genre doesn't really change how the band sounds and for most of the time the noise is simply annoying. It would be so much better to hear the band jam in the style of the chosen genre but I can understand it would mean a lot of additional (and most likely unappreciated) work from the devs, not to mention the costs of getting samples and combining them to sound unique even after a few hours of gameplay. Character customization is either completely non-existant or I am painfully blind from playing too many games. Either way it's quite bad since I found it impossible to change how my band members looked and was stuck playing death metal with a hillbilly-looking guitar player. Kinda kills the mood. There's quite a decent amount of real world genres and subgenres to choose from but some of them are treated as passive skills and can't be chosen as the band's actual genre. Not really game-breaking but it's sad your band can't choose to play black metal or some weird synth pop specifically. Be warned that your newly-founded band will suck harder than Mia Khalifa on cocaine. It's only after some time that you'll have enough perks and resources to produce a decent quality album and play a succesful tour. Don't give up if you fail hard at first. Overall the game is a fun play for everyone who wants to create their own band and live it's entire career without actually joining the unforgiving world of show-biz. Is the game reality-accurate? Not really. Is it difficult and challenging? Nope. Is it fun? Hell f****** yeah! So grab your imaginary guitar/drum kit/mic and let there be rock!
This game rules. It ruled on mobile even before the complete overhaul. For a dollar, you get a lot of value, and even when it used to cost 5 it was well worth the price of admission.
Very confusing, the lengthy tutorial explanations are not clear at all, Also it’s ugly but you already saw that.
this is a really underrated game! however, i do wish you could write and record albums separately instead of having to make it all in one go. this is still the best $2 i've spent in a while :D
