I'm not really sure if A Midnight Village Story is an asset flip. Some elements of this game certainly make it seem like the developer put some effort into assembling some kind of original here. On the other hand, a lot of the game assets don't seem like they were created by the developer, but they haven't credited any asset creators for supplying assets, which might be a case of plagiarism. Really, this looks a lot like a bunch of low poly/cartoony/anime assets (characters possibly done with a simple character generator), dumped onto Unreal's third person blueprint with a minimal effort expended in (badly) writing some dialogue. Of course we need to give the benefit of the doubt... regardless, asset flip or not, the quality here is indistinguishable from many asset flip/cash grab scams, and that's a problem in itself. And if the developer really did create all these assets by hand instead of taking someone else's work and putting their own name on it (unethical), what a waste of time that was. You run around a village/forest environment and talk to NPCs, that's pretty much the sole scope and ambition of this low effort shovelware. This game has been translated from some other language into English... badly. If this was done through Google Translate, Google Translate should feel ashamed of itself. Regardless, the language in this game is broken and will put off a lot of gamers. At least that's the excuse I'm making on the developers behalf here... if English is the only language they know, then, well, that would be worse. Benefit of the doubt! There's an overwhelming amount of mediocre Visual Novel/E-book style cutscenes in this game. The developers failed one of the most basic, fundamental requirements of game design.. "Show, don't tell." So you'll spend a huge amount of time not playing the game, but clicking through endless lines of poorly written VN text cutscenes because the developers couldn't work out how to relate their narrative through the game mechanics, and decided instead it would be better to compete with reading a book for your time. We're here to play games, not read through hours of garbage intersituals. My gaming rig is not a Kindle. The game is very simplistic, small and limited in scope and ambition. This feels more like a tech demo, proof of concept or student homework assignment rather than a fully fledged product designed for PC gamers. As such it doesn't offer any real value as a serious PC game. Taking this shovelware seriously as if it was a genuine attempt to make a game, it doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. The game features low-polygon "retro" assets with cartoony, mobile app style shader effects, making this look like a barely functional mobile app from 15 years ago. This visual style is a method that lazy devs often use when they have a lack of interest/capabilty to create highly detailed, high poly models and instead use shader effects to disguise that shortcoming under the name of "art", or "We made it look bad on purpose", which really isn't something gamers should have to put up with. It's unclear why the developers weren't willing to arrange high quality, high polygon count contemporary assets and high resolution textures for the game. It's far below the state of the art visuals gamers expect as a result of their decisions. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers, left handed gamers or gamers using AZERTY or other international keyboard layouts. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 2 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 100,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 100,000+ games on Steam? A Midnight Village Story has the pathetically optimistic price of around $5 USD, it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, especially considering the sheer number of completely free, much higher quality games on Steam. For comparison, the $5 asking price for this game could get you games like "Frostpunk", "Euro Truck Simulator 2" or "Deus Ex: Human Revolution". Quality, professionally made games like those are frequently on sale cheaper than this.
Profile Features Limited! Valve have marked this game as "Profile Features Limited" at the time of this review. This is usually caused by poor sales figures and low community acceptance for the game (to date). Until this status changes, this game will not give you +1 to your Game Collector badge count, appear in profile achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this game.
It's an ok game, but there minor issues which it can be fixed right away. The storyline is good at all and it's a first time for this game company made an open world sandbox to walk around. I should leave some guides in case if any have trouble with the minor issues which you will enjoy the game better for performance and experience.
Falta tudo.Mas se vc tiver um pouco de vontade de se matar pode jogar recomendo, comecei a desenvolver indicios de depressão................. Vou recomendar pra uns desgraçados que conhecer.
I like the art design of the game. Pretty cool.
Unfortunately, as soon as I loaded into the game it started severely lagging whenever I tried to move or look around making the choppy and unenjoyable to play. Exiting the beginning house was a task in itself, I couldn't open the door easily as there was no ability to interact with it other than pushing through by sheer force. Interaction with the NPC's was out of the question, as there was no way to interact even when pressing the designated button. This could be a nice game but it needs a lot of review and work to make a better experience for players.
10/10 лучшая игра на свете. меня ебёт мой отец

I really wanted to like this game. I was about to make a review making fun of the negative one. Somethin like... "Curiously, from the moment I loaded into the game, it ran so smoothly that I wondered if my PC had been magically upgraded. Every time I moved or looked around, the game flowed with such smoothness that it almost made me dizzy with joy. Exiting the beginning house was a thrilling adventure. I couldn't open the door easily because, of course, who needs an interaction function when you can use brute force and feel like a true hero pushing your way out! Interaction with the NPCs was an absolute delight. It didn't matter that I couldn't interact with them by pressing the designated button; watching their fascinating movements without interruptions was a spectacle in itself! This game could be a hidden gem, as it has great potential to offer a unique and memorable experience for players." But I can't... 12 nights? Well... half of them are empty. NPCs saying just "i'm busy right now" or other meaningless things... The first night was fun. I think the scriptwriter also had fun creating it, but then they seemed to lose enthusiasm as the game progressed. The characters talk less and reveal fewer stories as you go on. I thought about writing a funny review saying things like how the developer would like [CENSORED] a bunch of [CENSORED] (curse you, SJWs) and asking how they managed to fit the mayor's bed in his room, or why more people have the "play 12 nights" achievement (which I got on night 9) than the "play 6 nights" achievement (which I got on night 7 or 8), but I can't: the "game" has too many problems and seems to lack attention to detail. - There are many unfinished stories. - There are several houses but they are practically all the same, making it pointless to enter any of them. - There's a cemetery with an unearthed coffin, but there's no explanation why. - A couple of characters disappear, and there's no reason given. - Considering there's a cemetery, it could be expanded... - When you finish the game, it gives you the option to continue on "night 11," but you actually continue on night 12 with apparently nothing to do. - On two of the nights, the mayor was buried in the floor of his room, only his head was visible, and you couldn't talk to him. - The hitboxes are too small; to talk to someone, you have to be directly looking at them. In short, I hate to be so harsh on this game, because at times it seems made with love, but in the end, it feels like the enthusiasm was lost halfway through. The music is very repetitive (it literally loops every 10 or 20 seconds), when they could have at least made one song per night. There are many such details that could have been included but aren't. By the way, the game seems to be based on
a furry Discord server. It's one drama after another.
