A short horror story with a couple of good scares and great story I just wish that the choose your destiny part tells you what options you have
Spooky game. Was fun playing it. Nice retrolook and some little details (alwas look around). Just a bit short. Well done for a first game. Looking forward to part 2.
Pretty good little Horror game - short like others have said, but also pretty unsettling. I'm not usually one to fall for jumpscares, but two specific jumpscares in this game got me pretty good, I'll admit. I'm sure you'll know the ones when you play it. Story wise, there isn't a lot of deep lore or clues to find, but that's fine. At points, it really feels like you're playing through an old slasher film from the 80's or 90's. Altogether, a very good start for a dev making their first game. I'm glad to have supported the Kickstarter, and I'll keep my eyes peeled for a part 2 if and when it happens.
I played this today, and will be uploading it today to my channel. This game is about a couple of friends who are travelling, and make a stop at a trailer park (for some reason) to stay the night. Creepy things then occur. Admittedly, I feel this is extremely generic. And here is why. - The characters were generic and forgettable. None of them really had a personality, it felt stiff and awkward. - The assets used are the EXACT same on every single trailer, save for the porch. Not a single trailer has a different interior, down to the cereal box on the counter. - The trailer park was not edited, and if it was; it wasn't edited much. I've seen this asset used before, and it felt unlived in and undecorated. This was honestly just a borderline boring experience to me. It didn't feel like a lot of effort was put into it, especially for a $5 game. Some other issues: - Game was dead silent when you were walking around. No music, no sounds really except wind. Instead of creating a scary atmosphere, it was awkward to me. - The controls. It took me like 8 minutes to figure out that "Q" was what I needed to eat the sandwich, and "F" was to turn on the tv while looking at it. This is very strange. I understand this is the devs first game, so some feedback I'd give for the next one: - Craft your environments more. Use detail, give personal touches to the game. This feels like just another reused asset game. For the 619 euro that the game made on kickstarter, I'd expect some creativity and more assets. - Build up the atmosphere over time. It immediately jumped into the weird and creepy with no build up so it was hard to get immersed. - Don't do the person running at you jumpscare thing. All games that are trying to be like fears to fathom do this: and personally I hate it. I don't think you are trying to be fears to fathom, but this is a huge pet peeve of mine. - Create characters that are better written out and that we will enjoy, be interested in learning about, and care about what happens to them. - Make the monster more.. monstery? All we get to see is him slightly transforming into a wendigo looking creature for a moment, and that's it besides the jumpscare at the end. No creepy stalking scenes, no chase, we get to see him like once in that form. - Don't do the ending jumpscare. I feel this is a lazy way to do an ending, it didn't resolve anything or really tell us what happened. I'm not sure if I got the "bad" ending, but still. If another game is made, I will happily play it if it appears it's an improvement, but I definitely wouldn't recommend this as-is.
