A Dragon's Tale: Fading Light is a fun 2D action-platformer made by a single developer and as I was playing the game I could tell how much love he put into his game. Just the first cutscene confirmed this'll be a good one. 2D platformers are fun and this game offers some RPG elements alongside it with a good amount of skills you can have for your dragon. There will be favourite skills for everyone and the game rewards the player for exploring the levels with fragments and runes to upgrade and acquire new skills. RPG elements are present with enemies and bosses and some puzzles, e.g fire won't work underwater. The RPG elements are a nice addition to a wonderful 2D adventure which is made well. Platforming is made well in the game with double jumps and dashes which play a huge role in getting across gaps and avoiding hazards, not to forget they can be used for moving quickly. There are many unique environments along your journey and nothing will get repetitive and that is what the game made very well: The variety of levels and their contents. The game always offers you something new so no level type gets repetitive. When you get the basics done you learn a new mechanic, some new puzzle mechanics, and soon you find yourself lighting lamps in dark places, escaping flows of lava, mine cart may be included, and an entire level in underwater cave. The game always finds new ways to keep things fresh which also keeps the player interested when searching for collectibles in every level. If nothing changed it would have become dull but that's not the case here. There are a few difficulty options and even a hardcore mode for those who look for the mightiest challenge... but be warned, with 1 life some levels will prove to be dangerous! All in all, the game is a well done 2D platformer and when you get to play as a dragon it's even better. Get going and bring back the light!
A great platformer with many different abilities to make passing the levels diverse and fun! This game features Dani-approved particles made using Unity's particle system and aside from an interesting style quite a nice musical composition. The many enemies with a fitting design for the regions will definitely cause some adrenalizing moments while solving the various puzzles. The core principle of the game is simple and easy to learn, but the different paths of abilities and the variety in game mechanics make it in total hard to master. Some of the levels may appear to be quite long, especially when scouting for all the different collectables. "A Dragon's Tale: Fading Light" also features a clear main story that get's explained via a neat cutscene in the very beginning of the game. The Dev shows a lot of love for this game and takes care of reported bugs almost instantly :) All in all: this game is a solid 8/10 and I recommend it to anyone who is passionate about 2D platformers with puzzle elements and a more than large enough skill tree!
Really cute, nostalgia-inducing puzzle platformer. Each world offers a different visual variety, atmosphere (emphasised by nice, serene soundtrack) and different kinds of puzzles and challenges, so despite being quite long, the game does not get monotonous. In my opinion, Dragon's Tale takes much longer than 10 hours from the description – you really have to rush it to complete it in this time. On the other hand, the combat is a bit clunky and it is pretty easy to cheese it (for me it was not a big problem, as I prefer to take it smart than just to spam rolling or dashes). Moreover, it is possible to unlock multiple skills, but I almost never used more than 4-6 of them. To sum up, for a very low price you can get a long, relaxing, but also pretty addictive adventure – it is quite a bargain. I am really glad I found this game during Steam Next Fest. 7.5/10, keep up a good work
Неплохой платформер с миленьким дракошей.
Geiles Game, bisher (in der Full-Version) keine Bugs bemerkt. Spielprinzip ist sehr gut, und Soundtrack ist auch strong
