I have a very high end system, no problem with any games, but the framerate on this is horrible, especially when running the boxer demo. It got me ill

Very interested in the tech here, but the performance on my GTX 970 is just abysmal. Anytime I look at a character (especially in boxing), my PC goes into constant reprojection (45 fps). It even sometimes can't keep up with reprojection and drops frames even then. Anything you can do to lower the poly count of the captures models? I understand you're using ray-traced data, but my card simply can't keep up. Fix the performance issues, add some additional characters and content, and I'll definitely reconsider!
New negative review 12 Sept. 2024= 8i - Make VR Human is a free VR tech demo. Tried this with my Win 11 HTC Vive and Index system. It don't work, crashes steamvr or stuck on a loading screen on first loading. Don't bother downloading now. Old positive review 14 May 2018 = 8i - Make VR Human is a free VR tech demo. It worked on my HTC Vive system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok. Shows how well devs should be able to make real looking characters. You have 4 different mini scenes. Try it and delete it.
I made a demo video of this, it looks great and can't wait for more contect to arrive, needs to fix the stutter. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LUgpVLeAMKY
This is another one of those things where it's not so much a game as much as it is a tech demo for volumetric 3D filming, which is sort of like photogrammetry but for people by my limited understanding. It's not bad, but it's also not really that great, and the characters tend to have minor graphical glitches and white borders that make the scenes look more like you're living in one of those old FMV-based point-and-click adventures instead of a real world. It's free, so if you're curious you may as well try it, but it's a pretty big download so it's hard to say if it's worth the time to download it, depending on how interested you are in the technology and seeing a glimpse of something that might be more worthwhile in the future. I'm only rating it positive because there's no neutral option and I'd feel bad if I gave it a thumbs down.
Sanatçı birşey denemiş. tabi ki olmamış.
This is room-scale video of real people. This is a tech demo, not a game or anything entertaining. The people are 3D, and you can walk around them to look at them from all angles. It looks like photogrammetry but in video form, so there's some noise, and the quality isn't great. This is a glimpse into the future where we'll be walking around inside of Hollywood movies instead of watching them on flat screens. The four videos from least terrible to most terrible: Wasteland, Boxer, Gladiator, Climber
EIGHTY
This very oddly placed tech demo is great for taking a look at the once famous Logan Paul the hotter, and more masculine version of me, of the Paul brothers. This tech demo probably (At one point) believed itself to be the pinnacle of VR 3D rendering. A camera around your whole body? Rendering you? It sounds like the cameras did all the heavy lifting. You my friend, you are here to watch your PC chug on the rendering of the characters. OR THAT'S THE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ FAKE OUT You flinched. 8i Used bad rendering. It was super effective. Get it? The game renders the background with what you might expect, and the characters at a solid 30 FPS or 45, but not 60 giving the whole thing an old school anime vibe. Which is great if that's what they were going for. But it wasn't. And don't know what happened to the company, oh wait, they sell the scaffolding required to capture yourself, in the way that, idk. Honestly, let's drop the act.
TL;DR
This feels more like a tech demo for making 3d Movies, than what it would be, or desired to be for VR games. An artist with lesser graphics can do far more for the imagination.
