After losing my parlay, I started playing this to cope. 10/10
KOSTENLOS
"5050" ist ein kleines kostenloses Minispiel. Wir beginnen mit 100. 100 was? Egal. 100 Geld. 100 Ansehen. 100 Wissen. 100 Grottenolme. 100 Hunderter.
Short Review
5050 is exactly what it says on the tin: one slider, one button, and a coin flip between doubling your points or losing everything. My first reaction was "what's the point?" but I ended up finding it way more entertaining than I expected, with an addictive little tune to go along with it. The achievements are easy enough in concept but luck-dependent in practice. Worth a try if you've got some spare time. Recommended.
Full Review
You start with some points, drag a slider to choose how much to bet, press the button, and either double your bet or lose all of it. That's the entire game. No upgrades, no progression system, no hidden mechanics. Just a slider and a button. I looked at this and thought, "Why does this exist?" which is a fair question, and then I played it and kept playing it longer than I probably should have, so clearly it's doing something right. The gameplay. There isn't much to analyze here by design. The loop is simple: bet conservatively and grind slowly, or go big and potentially wipe yourself out. The tension that comes from that single decision, repeated over and over, is surprisingly effective. Getting 100% is straightforward in theory and annoying in practice because luck does a lot of the heavy lifting. Overall. 5050 isn't trying to be anything more than a quick, low-stakes distraction, and on those terms it delivers. It's relaxing, and the gambling loop is more entertaining than it has any logical right to be. If you've got some free time and nothing much going on, give it a shot. You probably won't be disappointed. Recommended.
If you liked this review, then feel free to check out my YouTube Channel for more reviews. 5050 is a simple, free, supposedly 50:50 chance gamble. Fortunately, the odds do not seem to be 50:50 but slightly in your favor. Beyond initial novelty and achievement/progression grind with luck, there's nothing else. As a free game with a decent implementation, I'll give it a thumbs up. It's not something I would recommend in general, or specifically, but you get the gist on the store page, and that's what you get, in a fair and decent way.
"5050" is a badly made clicker game, but instead of being an incrementer/idler, you gamble on a 50/50 outcome to win or lose all the points you put in. Yeah, this is completely pointless. So this looks like an old 1990's Adobe Flash game that you might play in a web browser, and the problem there is obviously Steam wasn't intended to try compete with Chrome and Firefox. If it can be done in a web browser, it's not even close to a cutting edge PC gaming experience. That's a problem. The game features really lacklustre 2D visuals (does the developer not know 3D graphics became mainstream in the mid-1990s?). Gamers don't spend thousands of dollars on gaming rigs and the latest 3D graphics cards to play 2D games. Even mobile phones and game consoles can do 3D graphics now. There's no excuse. You're forced to sign a highly questionable yet legally unenforceable End User License Agreement... for such a relatively low effort, low quality product, this comes across more as a delusion of grandeur than anything else. This agreement includes questionable requirements that may attempt to revoke consumer law protections that gamers expect to have, which is also highly problematic. Developers must learn they are here to serve gamers, not control them. I had my cat walk over the keyboard while the EULA was displaying, which fixed that problem for me. This was made with the godawful "GameMaker Studio" construction kit/toolset, which is popular amongst amateur developers because it handholds you through making really crap 2D games that you can publish for $100 on Steam Direct. This lets you pat yourself on the back for pretending to be a real game developer, which explains why GameMaker Studio is responsible for so much ignored garbage on Steam. GameMaker Studio has never really been used to make a truly successful game, but that doesn't stop people from trying and failing. It's a particularly bad game engine that can only be used for making low quality 2D products. Like this. You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear, as the old saying goes. Another reason this particular game wasn't successful. Let's look at the price and what kind of value this actually offers gamers. This is "free" enough (not every "free" game in the "free" section is truly free, there's usually some hidden price tag), at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good, and the cost of a game is more than just financial, your time is valuable too. Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 130 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB shows this peaked at just a dozen or so concurrent players, and now there's basically nobody playing it. Even though it's free, that was a dismal public reception. But if you take into account the problems I bring up in this review, it's easy to see why gamers rejected it. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? What's the verdict? No way. This is just impossible to recommend to serious PC gamers. I didn't spend any money on this, but I still feel like I got scammed.

✔️ ───※ ·🎲· ※───
