Praises • Trans/enby representation. • Due to an instance of slurs in dialogue, the player can choose whether this is censored or not. • Demonstrates how absolutely distorted the perceptions of reality are for bullies (and by extension bigots), in which they make themselves believe all sorts of f*cked up justifications for ruining people’s lives with their bullsh*t. • Encourages people to cut ties with those who are toxic, even if they were once family/friends. • Greatly improved dialogue from the previous game. Complaints • Some typos here and there. • Only sort of a happy ending. It’s a typical trans/queer tale. It’s a choice between being your true self or continuing a facade. The gamble is risking social/financial security in order to find true happiness. The sadness is realizing how f*cked up it is that anyone should have to gamble those things at all just to have a happy life. Yes, it’s a queers-can’t-be-happy story, but in the “epilogue” Hakuno does eventually get to be happy again, so it isn’t entirely sad. After looking into it more, it turns out this story and the previous one are prequels to a “STΔRLIVHT” series in which both sets of girls come together to form a queer idol group??? But it’s supposed to also be related to a bullet hell/rhythm game called “Noisz”??? I’m honestly a bit confused, but perhaps I’ll play said series if I ever see it on Steam and it isn’t bullet hell or rhythm, because I’m not a fan of those genres.
